I have been experiencing itching, burning, swelling, and pain in both of my glands for 10 yrs now. For 10 yrs I have been going to ENT, rheumatology, primary, and allergist. I have changed my diet completely. This has been a long road. I was finally given a diagnosis 2 weeks ago. Next week is my MRI, and then we will schedule the sialoendoscopy. I am so grateful that here in a few weeks, I will be FREE!!

Let me introduce myself, my name is Eddy, I live in Indonesia, I have suffered from parotid disease for more than 10 years, one thing that makes me not dare to undergo surgery is because I think about the side effects of oral nerve defects, but by watching this video I feel like I have hope for the future. the front is better. If only I had the money to come to your country and be able to get treatment with advanced techniques like that

Thankyou. My dentist has referred me to Consultants Head and Neck at UCLH in London due to a swollen saliva gland which I have had for over 6 months. My dentist is concerned it may be cancerous. The appt is in a few hours time. Please God I'm going to be ok.

This happened to the right side of my cheek/jaw in front of my ear for about two days. There was no blockage of the parotid gland but I felt it become inflamed while I ate something with lots of cinnamon. For the rest of the day and the next I ate very bland foods but it would still swell up and become very large. I just had to massage it after eating and I can remember feeling the built up saliva "gushing" (well not quite) from my parotid gland on the inside of my cheek. When it first started I was scared because it was super swollen and came on very fast and out of nowhere. Hope I don't ever experience it again.

@@sonnyren1 Nope; I don't have insurance so I'm not going to waste several hundred dollars for a doctor to tell me just to wait for the swelling to go down. I just waited and it subsided during the day and was gone by the next.

I have had this pain off and on for years now and it is only on my right side, the blockage lasts like you said for 20 minutes to an hour then the swelling goes down....when it happens it is very painful and seems it is going to last forever but then goes away after a meal to two or a day or two...should I get this checked again by my doctor because it does not always act up and by the time I can get in to see my doctor the problem has went away???

@carlblier925
@carlblier925 3 месяца назад
The sour candy stimulates your salivary glands to produce more saliva and to help prevent blockage. Sugar free may help but won’t prevent cavities, one of the big results from dry mouth.

I just met with an ENT for the first time over this and her immediate suggestion was removal of the gland completely. I have had the stones for a couple of years. I was hoping for scope to be an option but I didn't want to argue with her. If she's the only ENT around me that takes my insurance I can't really get a second opinion huh?

Yeah that's all great and good...but I have bilateral swelling to the sub-mandibular glands. No pain, no stones that I can see or feel. I don't like the way they look, so I'm thinking of having them removed because I hate how they throw off my face and neck. Been to the ENT and through MRI have determined it is not a tumor/cancerous. I'm at my wits end here!!!

@714Garcias

@TheXangelus
@TheXangelus Год назад
@@714Garcias i had a pretty big blockage in my salivary glands. Due to my GP just telling me oh it’ll come out naturally just suck on some sour candy . After not intervening for 10 days the underside of my face began to swell up due to the backup. The underside of my jaw was literally bulging like a frog when they inflate the sack in their necks when they start to call out. So suddenly i have a huge bulge under my jaw like a balloon was inflating under my tongue and pressing downwards so you could see it under my jaw(from just the underside of my chin to a bit above the Addams apple). After 10 days the pain became so bad due to the pressure a skin stretching that I just went to the emergency room where they were shocked. Turns he should’ve sent me after a few days and signs of the swelling but he was just an idiot. They immediately get the stones out because were to big to even pass myself and couldn’t have passed it alone without their help.

How expensive is this machine really? I got my stone removed like this 7 years ago from deep size 8mm. It took 2 years to have it removed even tho I said to doctors I have stone they didnt believe me. No test result pics give information if its really deep. What a joke to wait on line for years to have it removed. The machine cant be that expensive really wtf. So much swelling and pain to wait for this it was so obvious when eating I got golfball under my chin cmon! Im not even doctor but knew what was wrong made them look like amateurs.

Thanks for sharing your husband’s humor. If this were not so serious, your husband’s observation might be funny! However, did you read one commenter’s observation that she had eaten something containing a lot of cinnamon? Could you be allergic to something that’s causing blockage and swelling? Your husband has given you a thread to follow. Several doctors have suggested warm compresses and facial massages. Several commenters have experienced swelling of the salivary glands after eating. I’ve noticed that,too. I’m trying less salt and processed foods, more hydrating fruits and vegetables, like melons, cucumbers, and berries if I can tolerate them raw, and now, the warm compresses and facial massages to reduce facial swelling.
