Way to ruin a beautiful peice of woodwork by putting some printed image behind it 😔. If you'd just taken a little time to Bob Ross yourself a sunset (wouldn't even have to be that good!) You'd have yourself the difference between a peice of fine artwork, and a tacky thrift store buy. Even those with untrained eyes pick up on material quality subconsciously. Makes all the difference. If I got this I'd quickly rip off that background clean it up and put something worthwhile behind it. Otherwise beautiful job on the tree!
Not to draw away from the choice hand craft, by i couldn't help but notice the music... Is it Yawning Man? A beautiful combination of vibrant elements, you create a stunning result. First class.
Thanks Ben, Honestly, I am not real sure of the Music. It was one I liked from the You Tube Library, they are safe to use without fear of copyright issues
A long time ago a guy showed me a great way to mount my patterns. Use white self adhering shelf paper. Stick that on your wood then use spray adhesive on the back of the pattern. Shelf paper peels off with no residue.
Most excellent! Sterling comes through again. You have more patience than I do. Came together nicely complete with a "be kind to one another" at the end.
Great project Sterling, this one's a keeper. Bonus points for the Cheerwine on the workbench. I remember free samples passed out from a soda wagon in paper cups, in the late 60s on Main St. in Ellerbe, NC. It had to be good to leave an impression this long. Many years ago and many, many miles away now. Keep the videos coming.
I always see this tree image on pinterest and think to myself, "should I or shouldn't I", because of all the other ideas in my head I never get around to it. It turned out looking very fine Sterling. Great choice.
That would be GREAT to do it for a patio table top, with glass or clear strong plexiglass on top (to prevent things from falling thru the holes) & with a few nice colorful chairs around to make some contrast with the wood :D
Thanks for checking it out, just take it slow, let the blade cut, spirals are hard to get use to, but work well once you get it, try it again, and just let the blade cut, dont force the the wood
Nice work, something I did several decades ago was to soak the sunset image with olive oil on cotton swabs, made the paper translucent and great effect against a sunny window! (Don't think it will work as well on glossy paper, experiment!)
Glad you are on the mend. Dave Gatton mentioned what was happening. Thank you for the sub. but you will have seen I don't post anything. I would be known here in Oz as a "Gunna" Gunna do this and gunna do something else. LOL. You may have subbed before and it dropped off, I often see different people their subs to others have dropped off. Rob
Thank you so much for sharing your great talent of scrollsawing with us! In one of your video's you mentioned that you have all these great ideas, but thought it best to take a step back. The Tree of Life you did hit me like dah, "I should have had a V-8"! I need to step back and enjoy the experience. (I was trying to cut pieces out at 3 degrees and have them stand out. Being left handed, I went the wrong way on some of the pieces, lol. Keep up the great work!
No, but thanks to you I did get my first tree done, yeah! How can I attach a pic? Oh, and of course I went to cut it out on a 90 degree, but forgot to change it so it's at a 3 degree lol. I will post it on your FB page. Have a Bless Day!
amazing work, just subbed! I purchased the same scroll saw as you... comes in three days and I simply can't wait! ha. Take care and thanks for the great content
Wow that was Awesome Sterling. I enjoyed every second of that video watching it all come together...Beautiful Craftsmanship and Scroll working. Loved it and Thank you for sharing........... Shared ....
Sterling Davis Rofl.. I know no one will watch this video and think much of that spiral blade. But dang that thing is a game changer... You and I both know we couldn't zip around on our harbor freights like that! If you haven't seen the scrollsawscribber on instagram... Let's just say I have never seen someone do work like that. Would love to talk to that guy! 😳 But your work is right up there with his!! 💪🏻 Great job bud!

What kind of blade did you use to cut out wood you had such control I struggle with making those turns you do and I wondered if I was using the wrong blade. Thank you for such a beautiful tree of life carving.
pegas blades, that was a spiral 0/2 blade, just take your time, and let the blade cut, its all about speed, tension, and density of the wood, hope that helps
I love this idea. can all scroll saws use this type of blade, or only the expensive ones? I would love to get into it, but can see spending $400-$600 to try it out.
New scroll saw owner as of last week. Found a Dewalt used with stand, pedal, light and a few pack of blades at a great price. If I may ask, what blade(s) did you use? Thanks by the way for the free image download! You earned a subscribe from me!
