Tree of the Week: Black Oak 

Black oak is a widely distributed eastern deciduous species of red oak. It is a useful timber tree and it provides acorns for wildlife. It is sometimes called yellow or quercitron oak because the inner bark is yellowish and a natural dye is made from the bark.
