This guy is fantastic and in my opinion the best homesteading channel on RU-vid, while other homesteaders have transitioned into talking about politics and impending war and the fall of civilization just for clickbait and whatnot, this channel just keeps putting out useful content about things around the farm and home. i would love to see an official up to date farm tour video.

Keep up the great work, and never stop throwing in just random stuff to keep us entertained! I loved the dogs running around, and rolling in the mud. Plus the one day old calf seeing a drone for the first time, really makes you think about how we live nowadays, and the progress this world has seen in such a small time period.

Hi John, this was a great video, for two reasons. The power pack looks sensational, although I’m not sure it’s available as yet in Australia. Second reason, that cedar wood looked gorgeous, and yes, we were imagining what it would smell like. The bench you made looked amazing. What a great way to show how efficient the power pack is. Cheers from South Australia.

Nice portable power system. The idea 💡 of having a conversational generator on hand to recharge the unit is essential to compensate for all the variables that a strictly solar charged power unit might run into. Heavy overcast conditions can dramatically effect the energy yield. Lastly, as I've pointed out to folks in the past ,the Solar Charged portable power units are great for intermittent loads at low to moderate power demands. High energy or continuous demand loads are another story. ie... equipment such as, heaters, pumps, high capacity lighting compressors, welders etc.. It's all about duty cycle, (duration of the Load and frequency of the use) vs the size/kw rating of the power pack...

that thin blade on your saw is warping due to heat because of the thickness and the material that you're cutting is making it making the blade heat up expand and warp that's why it seems like it's bogging down, it's obviously designed for thinner material like plywood. Great VJO....again! I am only 7:06 in and have not read the rest of the comments sorry if this is redundant. The power from generator or and inverter is not a pure sine wave. Most basic volt meters when measuring AC voltage are ( for lack if a better term) calibrated based on an almost pure sine wave, because inverters and generators almost never produce a true sine wave the reading is off. Some meters will give what is known as a true RMS voltage. A True RMS volt meter gives the RMS voltage based on what is actually there regardless if it is a pure sine wave or not or the equivalent RMS voltage. When you measure the voltage from your house it is being measured in RMS voltage.

I can't wait till they start incorporating 240v into these units so that you can use it as a backup for a well pump. I know they have them, but they are not very common. Running a big generator all the time during an outage just for the well pump to kick on once in a while gets old. this one that you got charges crazy fast though, I might have to check into one to replace my goalzero
