I am 67 w/ a new knee replaced and a new HIP replaced. We have had these bikes for a year now, hard to find, but got lucky, and we really like them. My husband is 75 YO w/ a hip replacement. GREAT investment! We also just got a YAKAMA bike rack that HAS A RAMP that you can just roll your heavy ebike right up. Have been saying for years that the ebikes need a ramp because they ARE heavy (for a 67 YO woman) to lift. Cant get much better than TREK and BOSCH together! It's a WIN-WIN! JB
I bought an IZIP bike last year and it's kind of hard to go on the steep hills. So I was looking for an e-bike and I've tried this Trek verve + 3 Step Through model a few days ago and love it. I came back bought it today and I'm so excited to go back to the trails. Thanks so much for the instructions 👍
Bosch has a big flaw with this bike. If you are cruising along and hit a hill the electronics get confused and stops assisting as you climb. You would think for this much money the bike would perform correctly.
Trouble is , the bumps also shake your battery out of its mounting bracket as I found out ! Needs front suspension for smoother bump experience , for sure . Otherwise love this bike all around !!
Nice job on the review. I learned some things I didn't know even though I am picking one up tomorrow and have researched. I wish you had covered removing the rear wheel as well. I already have the Domane HP+7 (took five months) so I can vouch for how fluid the Bosch system is and Trek's quality. I am buying the low-bar version for family and friends to ride. The flexibility of the handlebar angle is really useful for different sized riders. I was pleasantly surprised at how rigid the low-bar version is. This is a nice bike and best suited for a receiver hitch bike rack; it is not a lite bike to lift.
I test rode this bike at Trek shop and omg I love how upright the stem allows you to get. I love having my back completely straight up like I'm sitting in a chair. This felt so comfortable, like riding a beach cruiser but it's not a beach cruiser! I love upright style bikes. Saves my back. I used to think that leaning forward was better cause it was "aero" and "faster" but I was wrong! comfort is way more important than speed.
do you know if the ergonomics are the exact same between the lowstep version and the regular frame version if they are both the same size? for example is a lowstep medium the exact same measurements as a traditional frame medium? or is one more upright than the other?
I am 65 YO and considering an ebike. I'm a large guy with mobility and flexibility challenges. Been looking at the Trek Verve +2 (Step-thru)and test drove one. I was impressed; it rides like a bike with peddle assist when needed. Because I'm a large guy and have mobilibity, flexibility, and stamina challenges I was thinking that the Verve +3 may be the better choice, with the slightly larger motor and longer life battery. However, they are hard to find. Is there much of a capability difference that it's worthy of spending more time to find the Verve +3 vs +2.
I had one on order but after my husband got his e-bike I decided to look around. I got luck and found a bike shop that had just received a shipment of 3 and I was fortunate to get one. Had I waited one day I would have missed out. This bike is in high demand.
I just found one. I called all around to different bike stores and found one that only sells Treks. It was less than 1 hour away from me. I had a bike in back order. I just purchase the verve +3 02/06/2021.
I just bought one. I went to a bike store and they had it in another of their stores and transferred it to my store. Online they say it will take a long time to get them, so definitely try bike stores.
