Music has been my life since I was 13. Grew up and still live in Mid Missouri, but New Orleans has been calling me. Music is a way of life and a deep history there. My soul craves to walk that second line and go out and night with my bass guitar and try to play my part
Native New Yorker here. With roots steeped in the Carolinas, and Trinidad and Tobago. The music and pageantry of New Orleans is like a merging of my two cultures. New Orleans music speaks to my soul! I love my people!
OMG, just more incredible black excellence on display. I know what I want to do when this quarantine ends - follow a second line all day long. America the beautiful, baby, like the world may never know.
just got back home to oregon from visiting new orleans for the first time rebuilding houses. this video is nothing like the real thing. anyone who truly experiences this phenomena in person would be blown away. i want to go back!
Only in NOLA...sidewalk stepping wheelchair brotha. Feathers, music, and Second Line...oh so fine...I love it. God bless y'all...And the dance goes on!!!
Both grandparents are from Jennings and Jeanerette. It’s in my soul. Hubby and I love going to New Orleans and all over. Thank you for the soul healing music. #2ndString
I don't believe folks give Stafford Agee (in green long sleeve polo shirt) enough props for his virtuosity on the trombone. In a city of trombone players, he's got to be one of the best. That solo is just sooooo funky.
Ain't no party like a Rebirth party cuz a Rebirth party don't stop! Ya just can't help moving to the second line groove. God bless the city of New Orleans and its gumbo of musical greatness.
Trombone Shorty is BAD!!! Play Children Play!!! Only in New Orleans... Saw T-Shorty on the Jimmy Kimmel Live Show last night and he did New Orleans proud... Thanks for this posting...
This is why I gotta go back home!!! Only in New Orleans can you see a guy in a wheelchair secondling!!! I'm going home standing up on my feet or in a box, but I am going home.
Man it is awesome to see people playing this music and playing it with real passion. This is encouraging. If ya'll loose your fire down there, we in trouble up here in the city!!! Keep on with it!!!
Be warned -- once you march/dance in a Second Line even if you do it kinda wrong..it's an addiction.. You'll get up in it, big time.Be prepared to groove....
My Wonderful CITY OF NEW ORLEANS is So RICH with Culture, Most people do not understand the Love we have for one another , and the pride we maintain in keeping the self preservation of our Beautiful City and Culture , it's emanates from within our SOULS , I now reside in Atlanta , but I truly do know what it means to miss NEW Orleans, and miss it will all my HEART ( smile) BIG MIKE Peep out my NO VID's you will enjoy them
Sweet, I recognise the sax player from Rebirth too :D I love how NOLA musicians just float around at eachothers' gigs and hang out together with no rivalry or bullshit. That's what music should be about, not X Factor nonsense.
@stylesmarino2 This is a combination of a few of their songs, most of them I heard have been released on CD all are readily available on sites like amazon, if you like this check out their CD "Live From the Maple Leaf" and "We Come To Party" those are my two favorites.
