I have already watched this more times then I can count. This is literally exactly what I have been waiting for. I cannot thank you enough for the effort you put into your all of your videos.

I've had a Flint about about 6 years. Sometimes I'm tempted to try a different one (Monk, most recently). After watching this, I have no problem staying with the Flint Thanks for posting and curing my trem GAS.

I've been using the Subdeacay for a while now and I have to say it's getting more fun every day. Through the Env. Drift controller produce wonderful, lively sounds that are only influenced by the dynamics/intensity of my playing. fantastic. In combination with the slightly changing attack behavior when the intensity control is fully turned up, it becomes really magical! This may not be obvious immediately. However, you will occasionally be surprised with new sounds. For me the perfect tremolo pedal. Big thanks to Mr. Subdecay!

Great lineup and great sounds as usual, I expect nothing less from you!! I own a Flint, and was surprised that I actually do like it best here, somehow to my ear, I find it more " musical "....if you ever do another tremolo shootout, please please try the " Drifter " from Greenhouse Effects, I have one and I love it. Lately I've been really loving my DOD Vibro Thang too...great review!!!

Set them at various intensities and depths then turn them all on, and be sure to have them all running into the gain stage of the Supro.

I find I tend to prefer a quality digital tremolo. Because every analog trem is typically built around a boost circuit. Which solves any issues of volume drop but unfortunately means it'll likely boost your signal which you may not want. Some people love that boost there but I have yet to find one that's not overly compressed.

The monk has the most options and controls. The eq trim pots inside make all the difference to me. Takes a little time to get to know the controls but I love mine now. I was using the walrus monument v2. Which I still like but as I said, monk has more options for control.

what I look for in tremolos is transience of notes under the tree- why those old fenders (the bias vary and the harmonic ones that is..) were so great is they worked iin a way that allowed the notes to come through the tremolo. if you have ever played through a slow and deep trem you know what I mean, if you hit a note in the low part of the wave (this doesn't apply to harmonic trems) it gets lost.

I hdd a Flint for 5 years, and they are great pedals, Spring isn't that great but the rest is. Anyway, I have the Monk now and couldn't be happier. There is a lot more depth and variations on the Monks controls not shown here at all. Supro sounds cool, still happy with the Monk and Subedecay had a nice sound to it as well. Surfy was good but kinda vanilla.

So you like the Monk better than the Flint? I got rid of my Flint and got a Keeley Caverns v2 which I love but now I want my Tremolo back so I’m looking at the Monk. I liked the Flint but I don’t run a stereo setup and I didn’t care for the Strymon sound taking over my whole sound. I love the three reverbs on the Caverns and the delay is awesome as well. I think the Monk will be an excellent addition to my setup. Take it easy

Supro has the best low end throb and richness but the Flint is more versatile. If you have the real estate go with the flint. If not supro for pure vintage tone unbeatable.

thanx for another great demo btw! what's the difference between harmonic tremolo and vibrato again? And dang...that Harmonious Monk sounds smooth and clean. Any weird EQ or buffer issues with the Jam? I've experienced some issues with their pedals.
@TriPedalReviews
@TriPedalReviews 3 года назад
Harmonic(tremolo|vibrato) are the same thing. People mislabel it vibrato because Fender did back in the day and it's stuck. The affect is achieved by splitting high/low bands and modulating between them. Magnatone vibrato is different, it's modulating the frequency by phase shifting. It does not split the signal. Most all effects are related, you can get similar sounding results even if an effect is different. There is a clear difference between Magnatone Vibrato and Harmonic Tremolo, but pedal companies now days like to put phasier variants (not simply pitch shifting) in pedals, which blurs the lines a bit. Also add copy sometimes mention harmonic vibrato in same articles talking about Magnatone as they were both available in that era, which I think also blurs the lines. The JAM was darker voiced than the others at unity. Depending on what you like or don't like, that may or may not be preferable.
@winstonsmith8236
@winstonsmith8236 3 года назад
@@TriPedalReviews ok, I thinkI meant what's the difference between harmonic tremolo and normal vibrato. Interesting about the Magnatone, to throw another wrench in the machine, Origin Effects says the Magma57 is "true pitch`modulating", no mention of phase. It definitely seems different than tremolo but it also never gets close to the full depth you'd find on a tremolo pedal.
@TriPedalReviews
@TriPedalReviews 3 года назад
@@winstonsmith8236 Their add copy doesn't mention phase, but they have an entire control dedicated to phase. It's the middle switch on the left. Switching that changes the effect from pure vibrato to a more phasey version more akin to the Chorus mode on a Univibe so they say. Confused yet? lol Surfy Vibe also has a switchable toggle from "Vibrato" to "Sweeping" which does about the same thing. CTC Memphis also has something similar with a fully Wet(vibrato) or Dry/Wet toggle.

Flint takes it. Thought the JAM might edge it after the first clip but in fact, the flint is as good and a touch quieter and it has great verbs. Supro has too much noise but otherwise fine.

Sir, I was wondering if you have you checked the internal trimpot for EQ on the Harmonious Monk. I wonder if it bring the pedal tone (in normal mode) close to the Mr Black Deluxe Plus type of EQing?
@loulagro2315
@loulagro2315 Год назад
Listening to RU-vid videos is one thing, but actually hearing a pedal live in your rig is another altogether. The main criteria for me is a pedal that sounds the "least affected" ..... I know that doesn't make sense at first thought, but what I mean is for me it is essential to have a pedal that has the "effect" but does so with the least change or degradation of the original core sound. I bought a Supro, it's great, does phenomenal Trems including harmonic, and has the gain function, BUT .... its just did something to the base tone along the way that I didn't like and ultimately couldn't live with. Just not open and dynamic enough. Same with the Flint for me ..... Awesome pedal, not bashing it at all, but it just alters the core tone in a way ultimately I didn't like. The Jam Pedals are becoming a favorite of mine because they really seem to let the core sound and dynamics thru, but also provide the desired effect. I guess you could say closer to an old Fender amp with bias or harmonic trem. I have a choice 69' original Shin-Ei Univibe that just kills, but I have to tell you the Jam guys are doing something right over there in Greece!
@ronlight7013
@ronlight7013 3 года назад
I bought the Supro pedal after I fell in love with bias tremolo. I also own a Fulltone pedal for standard optical tremolo. That said, in this demo I feel the Supro comes in third behind the Strymon and especially the Jam Pedals (my personal favorite!) when it comes to harmonic tremolo. You can't have everything, now, can you?

@TriPedalReviews
@TriPedalReviews 5 месяцев назад
Shapeshifter V1 was actually my first dedicated trem pedal, I've had it the longest of any of them and it is great. I did have the V2 at one point and I didn't like it as much, got rid of it eventually. Most of the shootouts I do are focused on trems with just a few options (usually focusing on sine wave and harmonic trem), which is probably why I don't think of it since it does a boat load of shapes. Doing a shootout with ones that do shapes would be a huge task haha. I should do a dedicated demo though, it's a great trem.

@@TriPedalReviews Yeah everything he does is really great, and the stereo trem is first class. The HT shipped in a couple of days and got to the U.K. from Australia in just over a week.
