Love the movie "Tremors?" Ever wonder where it was filmed? Join movie location hunters Alex and Ben as they comb the landscape of Lone Pine, CA in search of "Perfection!"
Great video guys! I just got back from there, I am also obsessed with this movie as well lol. I have travelled from Newfoundland Canada twice to check out tremors film locations. I found a bunch around lone pine and even went to the spot where they filmed the town, south of lone pine!
I was just there a month ago I installed some solar panels out there I was amazed I was all like what tremors django was filmed here?! Can't wait too go back
as a die hard fan from Cape Cod, MA since I was 10...god damn did I have a smile on my face the entire time watching this...but HOLY SHIT THAT MUSEUM!!!! I WILL MAKE THIS TRIP SOMEDAY! Very nice guys! Qapla!
I've been trying to duplicate Burt's vest for 20 years now. I even tried to contact the costume designer through their agent, no luck. I do have an original crew jacket with the working title, "Beneath Perfection" embroidered on the back.
My movie location finder partner Alex might have the GPS coordinates, I'll ask him. He used Google Earth to find a lot of the spots. However, all one really needs is some print outs of a few screen shots and some patience in searching for the right mountains and skyline. Lone Pine is a big area, but it's not overly-intimidating. The "roads" in and around Movie Road are passable as long as there hasn't been a recent rain. There is some hiking involved, but not a ton, to find the spots. FYI - a lot of the rocks used in the film were actually constructed set pieces. However, the ones in actual existence are not too hard to find - e.g. the big rock the group hides on overnight. Again, use those screen shots - the wide angles - study that, and just look around. On a clear day, it's very obvious where they filmed a lot of the scenes. Stay tuned for GPS coordinates!
Ben and I were parked along Movie Flat Road (a dirt track) at approximate coordinates 36°36'14.47"N 118° 7'18.42"W (google Earth). From there, the boulders and mountain skyline will be recognisable from the film, a couple hundred yards to the west of Movie Flat Road. I'd recommend printing off screen shots or taking an ipad to view the scenes from the movie to get your bearings and to help find the exact locations.

Some very unique rock formations as well as the mountain backdrop were a huge help to us! Bear in mind that some rock formations were built for the film, then torn down.
