Could you imagine if Europe went to war with Russia (against a foot invasion) and they start re-digging and reusing *these* very trench lines?

I wonder how many bodies are still there... how many families never given the opportunity to bury their dead...

Worst part is, the Zone Rogue (French for zone red) is a line that runs across the Western front of WW1 where it is still impossible to live due to bomb shells and the use of mustard gas

sometimes I wish I died during the CE era and stay as a spectator/ghost to watch the wars

in world war one and two! They would have straightened trench systems.. which would often result in shells landing in the trench causing shrap metal to inflict Heavy casualties! Now dayz we zig zag are trenches so a machine gunner cant hop in and mow down a bunch of soliders or a shell lands in and whipes everyone thats close out!

wouldve been awesome if they preserved the trenches, started rebuilding them, but i know it would be pretty dangerous for a multitude of readons and disrespectful to some of the dead.

Terrifying fact: There were longer and more trenches at the battle of Kursk than in the entirety of WW1 across all front. It really puts to scale how big WW2 was.
