Trensettahs Sound System on all streaming platforms
This is the first release from the coming album, Black Sounds of Freedom. This riddim features; Capleton, Jah Thundah, Rootz Underground, Sydney Salmon, Dejazmatch Kwasi, Kwanza and Jahnice, and Pamfalon. This riddim is the soundtrack to the pilgrimage, from the west back to the east. This has grown from a Rasta movement to now being a bridge of all conscious music in the diaspora and on the continent. The Festival, also dubbed as the pilgrimage, is intent on making it easier for the diaspora to take their first steps to the continent. This music is the soundtrack to that movement. We are linking technology, business, social/political cooperation, and the arts in this festival. The artists that appear on the album are the artists that come to the festival. There is a documentary and a docuseries that explains this more. The docs are also called the Black Sounds of Freedom. This is the 21st century Rasta movement, Reggae, Roots, Culture, Diaspora, Pan-African, Consciousness movement. So stay tuned stay focused, and move Forward
Trensettahs Sound System is a collective of Afro-futurists working to create and promote reggae music to fans all around the world. Founded in 2015, Trensettahs is a band of musicians, DJ’s, visual artists, thinkers, business people, and tech pioneers.
The collective’s current project, Black Sounds of Freedom, is an expression of arts, culture, history, academia, and futurism. Black Sounds of Freedom contains 3 core elements: the album, the docuseries, and the Festival (aka the Pilgrimage).
The Black Sounds of Freedom, the album - The album contains 10 handcrafted riddimz which represent a total of 50 songs. Consistent throughout the album are reggae legends Sizzla Kalonji, Mykal Rose, Steve Lightning, Jahnice, Sydney Salmon, and Fyahman, the album features more than 20 individual singers. Additional featured artists include Capleton, Luciano, Lutan Fyah, Jr. Reid, Mr. Lex, Zalama Crew, Jah Thundah, Yata Ken, and more.
The music features elements of foundational reggae, mixed with the sounds of today and the styles of the future, played almost exclusively on live instruments. The riddims are 100% original, with zero samples.
The Black Sounds of Freedom, the docuseries - the Black Sounds of Freedom docuseries is a 5-part exploration of music, set against the backdrop of resistance movements that took place in Africa, and throughout the entire African Diaspora. We travel through Jamaica, Colombia, the U.S., and Ethiopia, telling the stories of musicians and examining how they represent their communities. Vitally, the journey explores how these musicians uplift those around them-their work serving as the heartbeat of global revolutions.
Think globe-trekker travel documentary meets Haj pilgrimage, centered around bringing music legends together similar to the Buena Vista Social Club!
The Black Sounds of Freedom Festival - The festivals take place on OUR Holy Days. The coronation of HIM, King Tafari’s Earthstrong, the Battle of Adwa, Marcus Garvey Earthstrong, Juneteenth, Bob Marley Day, and the Abyssinian New Year.
It is hard for people living in the diaspora to make their first journey to Africa, and we want to make it easier and provide a lasting experience. This is not a call to move to Africa. This is a call to make Pan-African identity bloom across the globe. The pilgrimage is both spiritual and logical. It’s music and entertainment combined with cultural exchange, historical examination, and commerce seeing the biggest expansion. The West is no longer growing the way the continent is. Let’s collectivize!
