It looks that way from the outside but there has also been a huge amount of change over the last year, a legendary figure has left, they brought in a new director of football, a new coach, new management structure, so I don't know.

Nothing he said was wrong or suggesting he wants to leave - context it everything. The only reason people are rattled is because the aggregators intentionally posted the quotes out of context to create drama. If anything, everything he said indicates he wants to stay.

You can't win anything at Madrid, only lose what you're expected to win. You can't have any nights like Barcelona, only be on the receiving end. I've never understood the appeal. It's like the kids that always pick the best teams on FIFA and then think they're great for winning online.

@@Farkmaster All the more reason why he doesn't need Madrid to win it again. The only difference is that he will win more there but he will be soon forgotten like dew with the first morning sun. Stevie Heighway played before I was born and his name still rings out on the terraces. LFC knows how to forever immortalise their heroes, it's what we do best; on this score, this club is incomparable. Trent, of all people, ought to know that it means more.

If he goes to Madrid and uefa eventually win their case over the super league and can kick Madrid out of European competitions whats he going to do then, because the ruling over the case is not final yet as the one judgement that came in was from a Spanish court to rule in favour of the 2 Spanish clubs still wanting the super league, so Spanish courts will rule in their favour and that’s not showing an impartial judgement as it’s a biased one, the European courts are yet to decide whether uefa are within their rights or not

So you don’t think Liverpool can be elite and win trophies? I’m surprised by everyone’s response to this quote as if that’s not something he has already done at this club and will hopefully continue to do. This is the same guy that said our trophies means more a few months back, he’s not suddenly thinking let me go to a club where it’s a free ride.

@shay9491 I obviously don’t know what’s in this guy’s head besides that awful attitude he showed the first time Slot subbed him off, but he said those things last year with Klopp. I believe he loved Klopp and would’ve stayed for him. These days who knows. I never thought f Trent as unlikable but I don’t know what his attitude problem and body language is lately

⁠⁠@@talisa222 Mo showed attitude when Klopp subbed him off too, that doesn’t mean anything other than they want to play. He clearly knew not to react like that because every sub since he’s had a good attitude about. I don’t know if you read the article but I encourage you to do so because he’s full of praise for Slot and clearly believes in him as a manager.

The trouble with Trent is that in order to keep him Liverpool will probably have to promise to make him captain, build the team around him, and the highest paid long term player. I just don’t think he has the temperament for this. His dips in form, his lackadaisical defending, even some of the interactions he’s had with fans in the past-makes me think he is leadership material. And having poor leaders in the dressing room is a recipe for failure. Enormous talent that may not be worth the squeeze. At Madrid his ego would be better managed.

Its a big cloud hanging over our season , Im sick of hearing about the contracts and my fear is that it'll become a distraction the longer it goes on and affect the season! They need to clarify whether their staying or going its as simple as that, the fans, the club and their teammates deserve some clarity about what's going on!

He’s won it alll here. The sad part for me will be not seeing him as our captain. That to me is what he has to look forward to. Beyond that, everyone would choose sunny Spain, playing with one of your best mates in Bellingham , feeding mbappe , etc. I hate it. I’ll be devastated but football is changing. Players can get more money by running contracts down so teams don’t have to pay releases. It’s very new concept. More American model

If he doesn't want to sign, sell in January for whatever we can get for him. The management that allowed 3 of the biggest players contracts to all run out at the same time have to be questioned. Especially in the case of Trent.

You get nothing for him in Jan, because he can then sign a pre contract agreement with anyone and then they just wait to get him for free in the Summer. There'll be no club willing to pay money for him in Jan just to get him earlier, not a chance.

Love Trent, but he’s not Captain or even VCaptain material. When Klopp made him VC it didn’t feel right to me. He’s still quite immature I find. I hope we don’t lose him. But I find him so arrogant recently. Also, passing and vision is top notch, but his defending isn’t great - let’s be totally honest.

Liverpool fc have to put deadlines on contracts before January, if not sign then sell January. If players say going to run contracts out then so be it, but would not like to play if fans not happy

@Saharadesertdragon Not disagreeing that if a player wants out, inevitably they’ll be out, but the Zubimendi situation proved that clubs can still strong arm players and exert force over players. Zubi himself CLEARLY wanted to come, it was his club who effectively forced his hand.
