There is great joy in the Catholic Church my friend. Jesus wasn't just some dude in history. He really is the Son of God. He came to liberate us from our sins. When I go to adoration and gaze upon the Eucharist I can sense Him there. I feel so at peace when I'm there. I believe the Catholic Church because of it's unbroken line of followers. The Pope can be traced back to Peter. The same Peter that was with Jesus 2000 years ago. The Bible are not fake stories that people read to their children at night. No they are real events that occurred. The Bible is compiled of other books. Some are written like songs, some are written as historic events. It's compiled into this short sentence. " I love you" God used people to write down the Bible. The writers were all inspired by God. Some authors never even met each other and yet their writings spoke on the same topics and blended so perfectly together that there is no other way they could have written it in such harmony.

Nice analysis. :D Saying God's transcendent doesn't mean he's vague non-verifiable concept. It's a negative statement, that he is not of this world, but we don't really know positively what that means. Trent's also correct in saying God is either necessary (exists in any possible scenario) or impossible. That doesn't "define" God into existence; it just raises the stakes. It's like saying: "I define a universal right as a right that exists in all countries." That doesn't make the right exist. But if it exists in one country, it exists in all; if not in one country, not in all.

Please I'm begging you to give Jesus a chance. Your life will change forever. It won't be easy but it is oh so worth it.

Jesus loves you. Whether you believe in him or not. Yes the world is messed up. War, famine, disease, death etc. but you see life doesn't end here on earth. There is life after this. Our disobedience to the Almighty Father is the cause of all the crap that happened to us. Angels turned to demons because of their disobedience to follow God. Now they want to drag you into hell with them because your the only thing they can attack that will hurt God because you aren't there with Him.

When I hear atheist claims it always seems to jump back and forth always trying to avoid a solid stand. I don't mean that as a hateful meaning but that is what I get from listening to an atheist. Like I see that they kind of go back and forth on their claim that there is no way God exist when clearly other things point to Him. We don't see God straight forward but Creation and goodness point to him.

How does creation and goodness point to the existance of a God? I know that the word creation implies a creator but to me this just shows that the word creation is a poor choice. Doesn't it seem possible that there is not a creator? These guys can't even get past deism let alone to the unsubstantiated beliefs of the church. Whenever a theologian comes at you with a claim you should follow it with "what is the evidence for that?"

Trent it is in fact an argument from ignorance. The reason the caller was asking about coins in a jar is becuase he was trying to show how you can be an agnostic atheist without affirming there is no god. Do you know there is an odd number of coins in the jar? - No. Do you believe there is an odd number of coins in the jar? - No. does this mean you believe there is an even number of coins? - No... it just means the burden of proof has not been met to make you believe there is an odd number. Trent PLEASE DEBATE MATT DILLAHUNTY!
