I was born in Trenton, and from the looks of this, it's like, February or March - which means I was an infant when this was shot. Just... wow!

I was born in Trenton in October 1975 at the Mercer Medical Center (which is now closed). Would love to see footage or pictures of what it looked like then. I eventually worked at WPST for a time which of course was in Princeton, but the tower and transmitter were on W Ingham Ave in Trenton. Saw the abandoned building there over the summer and it was pretty heartbreaking. The Trenton Times printed newspapers there in the basement for years. Great footage!

Thank you so much for posting these transfers! I grew up in Trenton 1969-1982, and these capture the feel of the city perfectly. I belong to several Trenton, NJ Facebook Groups, and I hope it's OK to share these RU-vid links to your video pages (credit to Ear of Corn Productions). There are many people who would love to see these! Is there any possibility of a time coded clip ID listing for these two videos? Many of the scenes are recognizable, but some of the streets are less familiar. Many thanks again for sharing these precious memories!

I worked in the Labor & Industry Building at the time of this video (around :09 ) My mother tried to hold onto our family home (ours since 1920) but the neighborhood got so bad that in the '90s she had to sell. Really cheap because things just went downhill. She never got over it. The house now looks like it should be bulldozed :(

Yes, it is. I still feel the hurt every day. If we had been able to keep the house I probably would be living in it now. If anyone is interested-when I'm feeling up to it I take a trip through Trenton on Google Earth street level. It's a real eye-opener. Thank you so much for this video. Sad but some good memories too.

Remember going to the Burg for dinner? Roman Hall, DeLorenzo's, and the rest? Chambersburg went to 100% shit in the mid 90's and now it's a gang infested shit hole.
@Cissy2cute
@Cissy2cute 6 лет назад
DeLorenzo's still exist but they were forced to move to Robbinsville due to the neighborhood being so bad customers stopped coming. I am happy to report that their new location is doing fine and folks don't mind driving there because it is well worth it. I believe they are still the only place that call's the product "tomato pies" as opposed to "pizza". Roman Hall was very famous and it's a downright shame that they had to close, apparently replaced by "Infinity Lounge" that has drawn complaints as too noisy, public urination, etc. A terrible shame and echos what has happened to Trenton in general.

Oh it was! Booming industry (my father worked at Kuhn & Jacobs Tool & Molding). The huge Roebling plant. Stokeleys, Champale (forgot spellings), E.L. Kerns Soda Company--on and on. Great shopping downtown with major retail stores. I was born and raised there and sometimes I go back in my mind just to remember.
