Berbick was a dirty fighter through out his entire career.

By that logic, Tate should have been DQ’d for turning his back and running. The truth is you don’t understand the rules of boxing that well.

@@oldschoolboxing6048 You're the one who doesn't know the rules of boxing. If you hit an opponent with an illegal blow and it injures him, it's grounds for DQ. Running from someone isn't.

It certainly wasnt legal BUT Tate was running away from him, Berbick had no other option. Your not allowed to punch the back of the head but your also not allowed to turn your back in boxing either. I don't think the punches that landed on the back of his head made any difference to the outcome, he was already well out of it. Wasnt like he was doing fine UNTIL he got hit in the back of the head, he was done the second the bell rung to start the round!

Because then you'd have abunch of people turning their backs and running hoping to get a DQ win. It'll change the whole game.

Defend yourself at all times...

Or else you get knocked down 3 times with one punch.

Tate was another talented--to a limited degree--fighter who was rushed, and fed to the wolves.

0:24 he clearly took off running from his opponent. Not only did he turn and run here he had a history of doing it. He did it against teofilo stevenson in the olympics.

@Aaron Mattson I know...imagine if every 1st infraction was an automatic disqualification. No warning, just disqualifying...ridiculous.
