Because of people like him, the world is a much better place now than it has ever been in human history. Slavery is gone. Smallpox is gone. The global rate of extreme poverty is at an all-time low. The world IS getting better, and it is getting better because of people like Mandela, but also people like us. If he could put up with 27 years in jail, I think we can put up with 2-4 years of idiocracy. 8 might be stretch, though.
