Here’s one of my favorite Carter Family songs that I learned from Flatt & Scruggs. Earl’s guitar playing on this tune is largely responsible for me picking up a guitar in the first place. Guitar - @martinguitar 1971 D-18
Thanks Trey. I too have been playing that old tune for over 50 years now, but you do it far more justice than I. Your talent is great. Use it to God's glory.
Love it , I had a 45 lp of Flatt and Scruggs doing that one when I was kid . I wore it out to where it wouldn't play anymore :-) . That need to go on the album :-)
Wow Trey, God sure blessed you when it came to talent. I'm a musician too, but got a way lower dose of talent. Your music is pure, real, and I can tell your music comes from deep within your heart and soul. My dad recorded Mule Train with Decca Records in 47, and I always thought the same of him when we would pick together in the kitchen. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Top work Trey, part of a magic tradition, great to hear these classics done so well. As a kid (Aust) I leaned some of the Carter Songs on an old broken 78. I spun the disk by hand and used a corn flakes packet as an Amp, with a needle stuck in the bottom.
Wonderful, Trey👍 One of my favorite songs in the best version I heard. I‘m from Germany and feel lucky to have seen you in Prague🇨🇿 a few years ago with Rob Ickes. Wish you all the luck and stay healthy in these times.
