I was playing MP4 with my brother about a year or two ago and he was set to win, then... Chance Time happened and we hit trade Stars & Coins. He walked out of the room, I couldn't breathe I was laughing so hard.

I literally just played a 50 turn game of western land in MP2 and betted all 130 of my coins in a duel against mario, and lost. (I was Yoshi) But, I landed on chance time on literally the next turn and miraculously got all my coins back through coin trade. I won all 3 bonus stars and won the game. I'll never have a more satisfying victory than that. To top it all off, this was in the last 5 turns.
I remember a time I was playing Mario Party 2 with my family. I had no stars, and someone (I can't remember who) had 3, which at the time was the most. Then, someone got chance time, and it landed on me, the guy with 3 stars, and swap stars. Needless to say, I was ecstatic.

Blue Bro Understandable. I remember when they LPed New Super Mario Bros Wii, but they recorded it at a con in a hotel room and they actually had to stop because of a noise complaint. And when they streamed Mario Party 6, they said that Emile's place (not sure if he still lives there now) had a rule where all noise had to stop by midnight. Wouldn't be surprised it the rule was created specifically for them...

When I played Mario Party 4 with my brothers, I managed to win the Lottery spaces twice, once with getting the gold ball and once with scratching a card and got 200 coins total. I was so happy that I managed to hit the big money that I felt like for once I can be the Party Star and then.....CHANCE TIME! And the coins I won went to my big brother(Wario) who is that One Player that wins all the Mario Parties we play. Of course at that time when it happened, I was playing Luigi and the one who forced me to trade coins with Wario? It was Mario. He even got instructed by Wario to make sure that the result was "Luigi trades coins with Wario."
agreed!... though it probably won't. and they end up bringing back the car.... honestly, i do have SOME hope they are working towards going back to the classic formula, because of some of the recent games like top 100, but they probably won't.
Hudson Soft got bought by another company so Nintendo started working with ND Cube on the Mario Party games so they changed the formula since it was a new group of people

Never mind, I played it yesterday, and it has a chance time -ish event on the so called spin spaces, though it doesn't cause any sort of reversal of fortune (directly at least), it mainly just lets whoever lands on them steal items from others.
if you were to hold back all the way, it would almost always land in the swap coins. so you can still prevent it from going there. i don't really like mario party 4's chance time, though.
