Totally blown away by the complexity of this and all asanas. So much to try and remember, and then put into practice, one step at a time. Thanks guys !!!!
Wonderful ! One of the best teacher that I ever see. Excellent for preventing injuries what ever style of yoga that you practice. The Ashtanga yoga for exemple must be practice on this way of course, but all depends of the qualification of the teacher ! And is very difficult to find one on the level of Joey, who has a deep knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
Yes, u r right, I.m basically an Iyengar practitioner since 5 years and did my ashtanga Vinyasa primary from mysure just a month back. During my learning process, I found that use of props hv helped me a lot in alignments, working on stffness of some muscles, and it helped me overall in ashtanga practice. Initially while practicing, I was slightly reluctant to use props thinking I will b.dependant on props, but, believe me, the way props help u to mould ur muscles for particular asana, once the body is ready, u don't feel like using Props, u get the confidence to go for postures without props. Joey has explained well the importance of veerasana and supta veerasana for preparing tryanga mukh. Thnx for sharing this asana breakdown.
In fact i have seen two very different conception regarding these issues : what you (very nicely) indicates here (in the same way that the Iyengar method) and what suggests Bikram : do and do not think too much, with the time, perhaps, you will improve. Of course, this second method can be easily objected but it is also a way to progress in life.
I mean, I love Joey and Stu and I think these videos are super informative and helpful, although my ankles are terribly stiff, making this pose the hardest one for me in Primary; sometimes I think my ankle will never release, so that's that, let's hope for the best s2
I am a beginner and I mainly practise alignement by listening to myself. When I tried this pose; i need a Block. I noticed that the hip with the straight leg tends to collapse, so I put the block only under the hip with the straight leg, not under both.Is it correct?
