One of the Triangle Strategy battle themes extended for at least 15 minutes. OST: www.jp.square-enix.com/music/... Composer: Akira Senju Image source: twinfinite.net/2021/12/triang...
"It will be pure again, as soon as I have killed you!" "Say what you will, I'm proud of the blood that runs through my veins. I've found people who love me for who i am. No longer will i let you or anyone else make me afraid."
Thanks, Ive always killed her First, and it's just Thalas being like '' My Sister is dead? Who's going to protect me now??'' And Honestly, Erika couldnt be more right lmao
@@nepu6373 what? I thought it more of "huh? Someone I love is dead?? But I thought we were invincible and perfect?" like, he just cant process she died though i never managed to kill erika before thalas, so...
@@alexanderwidmar2850 I'm pretty sure the line they say is depending on what stage you fought them on. If you went with Roland's path, they seem more humane and actually sad the other one dies unlike the other paths where they are sort of just assholes even to each other.
They death made me a little sad. They deserved it but... They were just children with a Bad uprising. Their mother probably let them to hate Frederica because she was a concubine daughter (Aefrost didn't really care about Rozellians so why them?). That hate and Gustadolv model learn them cruelty. Thalas didn't even knew hé could lose. Meaning all his life was giving to him on a silver plate. War was just a game. And when he saw Erika dying before his eyes he finally understood... That sadness and disbelieving in his voice "Erika... is Dead?". Same with Erika who couldn't even comprehend she was dying. They deserved it. I was glad to finally shut them up, but deep down I pity them. Killing Gustadolv was A-Ok though.
@@Aaron-ns1zz Frederica being like "Yeah nah. I can kill you abusive ass wipes and not lose sleep over it" is one of the best character arcs in the game and that's like the mid point in her arc
If you deliver the illegal salt, reveal Roland to svarog, defend the roselle, and go see your father after taking glenbrook back, you get Avlora on your team, by chapter 18
If you beat the game with no units even falling in combat for the whole game(I've only done it in very easy) you get the accessory plume of Immortality(50% chance to auto rez on death)(multiple times potentially unlike the rez ring
"I struck you down with my own hand...So tell me, who _are_ you, behind that mask?" "I am Aesfrost's bane. My mask stays on until the last handful of dirt falls upon your grave."
The artist is Naoki Ikushima. In addition to Triangle Strategy, he's the artist for Bravely Default II, the Live-A-Live remake, and both Octopath Traveler games.
*Sets up a joint mining venture* *Assassinates his cousin* *violently invades the country and overwhelmingly conquers it in a single day* *doesn't elaborate* *leaves*
@@optimaltt6070to be honest, in the beginning he seemed more calculated and actually forgiving than outright evil. His invasion and annexation of Glenbrook was swift to prevent large casualties that would stir the local population to rise against him. Gustadolph actually ran the annexed territories quite better than the Glenbrook family so much so that the peasants and nobility actually wanted to be ruled by Aesfrost. Heck if Thalas and Erika weren't so stupid and brash, then the Wolforts and the rest of Glenbrook would have surrendered peacefully. Even when you surrendered Roland, they messed up the negotiations that would have secured the rest of the kingdom and only provoked them and fell into Hyzante's influence.
(Morality route spoilers) “Fool… What did you think you would gain. martyring yourself. See how quickly your friends abandoned you!” “You think they’ve abandoned me? Where they go, they take with them my heart, my love, and everything I am!”
"You think they've abandoned me? Where they go, they take with them my heart, my love, and everything I am!" I'm not usually fond of English cheesy lines but this one hits very differently. Magnificent voice acting paired with this track. Literal chills.
God this part broke me. Erador was more than willing to exchange his life for Serenoa but it wouldn't be enough time. I was frantic after the explosion and hoped that the writers would pull some bullshit and bring back Serenoa. I was too attached. I couldn't play anymore of the game after this. Didn't have the willpower to do the other endings lol
Once this theme started playing during Frederica's ending, I just knew what was going to happen... It's the perfect track for this scene, I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about it.
The guitarist is Takayoshi Ohmura, easily one of the best guitarist prodigies from Japan, he also plays in BabyMetal. What a treat to listen to him throw his hat into video games and this soundtrack.
It's a shame that the guitar doesn't play a larger part in the piece as a whole. Just some sustained notes and minor embellishments. No licks, solos, or melodies.
The guitar entries legit carry this song with their contrast. His performance differentiates it for sure, regardless of not doing much complex. Unforunately not present for most of it.
@@oscarisbestboi8118 As good as the music is in this game, it does feel strangely limited. Like, so many battle themes get recycled into cutscene themes and vice versa
I'm guessing this is from Utility? I never did that one. Couldn't bring myself to do it. I did Morality > Liberty > Conviction as I had all party members (except Travis) by then.
@@sheridanmovieguyYeah, it is! Utility is a real hard sell of a path choice, but the moment with Frederica is so incredibly emotionally charged. Without a doubt the most gripping of the showdown duels.
@@lukeellis2934 I just did that ending a day or two ago. Made me so sad. I love Frederica and to lose her like that, I hated going forward and doing the rest. Her not being part of those final fights. Big sad.
Every song and choice from this game is a masterpiece in and of itself, it just shows the dedication to how much they loved both octopath traveler and triangle strategy as their own projects most of all
Ok I did NOT expect this to play during Frederica and Serenoa's duel after choosing to surrender the kingdom to Hyzante, this made that whole scene 10x better
@@Ellidyre yeah lol, it was in fact the 3rd ending I got (Hyzante is the LAST faction I want to be allied with) My first ending was actually Frederica's
@@Ellidyre I would tend to disagree on that. Benedict's ending feels the most realistic to me. And bittersweet endings have a charm in their own right.
[SPOILER ALERT!] I believe this is the song that played in the battle against Erika and Thalas on the barricaded bridge in front of the bridge to Greenbrook castle. When it started rolling, it totally elevated that battle for me, adding to its epic-ness. Love the piano littered throughout the track amidst the electric guitar and parts of the main theme song! You feel a real urgency and drama with this song, thanks for the extended version! The two Erika and Thalas were weaker than I expected but their minions were quite annoying.
With the music and everything, this is obviously supposed to be a dramatic fight, but one of the things I remember from it most clearly is the camera going between all enemies making their move, then cutting to Thalas at the bottom of the bridge, asking "How did this happen?" in the most insulted voice I've ever heard from any voice actor.
Cordelia: Roland, Please don't kill Avlora! Roland: What's that? I couldn't hear you (Actually understood the entirety of what Cordelia said and Proceeds to kill Avlora anyway)
This game really reminds me of Fire Emblem Gaiden/Echoes (those's warping witches, for example), with that. The AI has everything in its toolset to completely annihilate you, but it just chooses not to x)
@@VonFirflirch Witch AI is actually completely random whether they decide to warp in and attack or not. Once you start facing bosses that can spawn then en masse, it becomes a race to kill them before RNG decides to throw all the witches on the map on the one guy with nonexistent speed/magic resistance.
Honestly i played the game there is 3 differents ending + True Ending (Golden ending) after you finish each ending for each character. The game is like 160 h of playing equivalent. I thought it was short in the first time but when you will experience the true ending you will see how big he is.
@@chloewinnaa1515 I liked it quite a bit. It had similar combat to Tactics Ogre, and that other guy was right about the multiple endings so it was a lengthy experience. Speaking of Tactics Ogre, the remake is out and I really want to play that, because I love the originally so that might be better to scratch that tactical rpg itch.
I feel like the battle against Avlora after voting on blowing up the ship(s) would've been a lot more tense if I didn't have Narve, Ezana, and Piccoletta repeatedly electrocuting the giant pool in the middle.
the flow of that fight was weird with her and her soldiers tensely standing in that fountain for awhile as I zapped them for as long as I could before we kill each other in a corner
@@VonFirflirch Ultimately, that strategy is about stunning as many enemies as possible, and the damage is kind of secondary. It doesn't really work if the only enemy being hit by it is a boss immune to paralysis, but if you can bait regular enemies into the pool and hit them with lightning, there's a very good chance you're disabling several at once, which is big. Admittedly though, it's far easier to abuse on the few fights at the Source map.
Absolutely incredible song and character moment but holy hell Whiteholm Bridge is just the worst map in the game. Instantly trivialized by any archer choking the ladder
I cheesed that map pretty hard. I was down to just Frederica and Hughette at the end, and had them come down the ladder to coax him into range while the other pummeled him from a distance. Ah, good times.
If I had a nickel for every time a banger combat song present in a tactical grid based rpg was named "Destiny", I'd have 2 nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird it's happened twice right?
*Spoilers* The Virgin Roland: Thinks he's in the right because he won, is a communist, Is perfectly fine with slavery The Chad Alvora: Calls out Roland's hypocrisy, agrees with the idea of freedom and democracy, stands up on Cordelia's behalf
