Question? I was diagnosed with ulna impaction syndrome due to non repairable tfcc tear untreated is how I understand it, what happens if the impaction syndrome is not treated and continue to put weight and consistent repetitive usage on it ?
Any impact in the bone can lead to osteoarthritis, which is the most likely outcome. A more severe consequence would be, to put it in layman's terms, death of the both due to lack of blood flow. This leads to pieces of the bone breaking off, getting caught in the joint, and causing discomfort. The good thing is the ulna is usually not a weight-bearing bone (depending on your activities) so that consequence is unlikely. It's always good to consult with a hand specialist who will be able to give you all scenarios you face.
Without surgery, a full recovery is not likely. It may lead to osteoarthritis at an earlier age. Getting a brace may help, but if surgery is indicated, it should be considered.
Unfortunately, if you did nothing to cause this (such as an injury) this is how you were born and it is always going to be this way. It's not something you can fix.
