In Canada (Quebec, French part of Canada) we say "Malade comme un chien" which means 'sick like a dog' so I think 'Dog Cough' might be the origin of that saying.

This is now my favorite RU-vid channel. THIS is the channel we've needed to help cope with all the changes due to the pandemic and I am so grateful that this came at a time when we needed a little brightness in our world. Seeing these lovely people express their gratitude, sharing blessings from God with all has had such a positive impact on me. These wonderful people are doing so much to help us all understand each other better. Personally, I think they are more effective than all the delegates in the U.N. May God continue to bless them as He has blessed us with their videos. So much love to them and to all the viewers.

These guys are just the best. I love this channel! When I visited Pakistan many years ago. I stayed in a village for 4 weeks. I noticed everyone went to sleep early as there was no street lights unless you were near the main road. Then they all woke up at the break of light. The noise of the roosters in the village. Followed by the noise of the odd motorbike and cycles passing through the narrow village inner streets (more like alley ways) woke you up. Therefore everyone seemed to be up at the break of light (between 4am-5.30am). If you woke up a couple of hours after you felt like you had missed a lot. This is likely the reason people from villages have a big breakfast. Infact they didnt immediately eat. As making a tea was a long process. This would involve someone in the household milking a cow. Then burning wood to light a fire under the stove and then boiling the water adding tea, cardamom pods, milk and sugar. Which was bought to the boil twice before being served. The teapot was left to very lightly simmer for those who got up a little late or wanted a tea top up. The tea was always served so hot, it took sometime before it was cool enough to drink. I think this is the reason why Pakistani's have a habit of dipping everything in their tea because theres no other way to safely drink the tea until it cools. I remember the mornings feeling a lot longer and about 2 hours after the tea was done they would serve a proper home made breakfast consisting of Prathas made with fresh makun (buffalo butter) or fresh desi ghee (traditionally slow cooked hand churned butter from cows). It was so fresh that the cow or buffalo producing it was in the garden. They were treated like we treat our pets in the west. Taken out to the fields, to the river and left to wonder and graze until it was time to come home. The prathas were severed with a fresh meat (likely slaughtered that morning) or fresh veg curry. Sometimes the parathas we stuffed with saag (spinach), gobi (cauliflowers), aloo (patoatoes) or muli (radish) all fresh from the fields in the village. For me, it was a once in a lifetime experience in 2000. I was 20 years old and far too young at the time to totally understand what I was experiencing or to properly appreciate it. Now I look back and remember how much of a magical experience it was and how difficult it can be to recreate that experience again. It makes me want to write a book.
