Wasn't expecting the shoutout! Thanks for that :) My thoughts on projectile speeds/hitboxes: I don't hate it being easier to hit shots, it just feels *too* easy right now. Especially as someone who mains capper, it's quite frustrating to get hit in the face 100% of the time by top D players. A balance somewhere in between the last patch and this one would be cool to try out. I fully agree that light feels way too weak. Less HP, AND worse weapons is something brand new to this game. That plus light not really having significantly more mobility than other classes makes it incredibly weak. I'd love to see all weapons evened out across the board and lights given more mobility. Good stuff!

Appreciate it! Between weight classes, skill levels and competitive v casual play, one change in the game ripples into so many awkward directions. Important to keep everyone involved!

One of the things I loved doing in the previous Tribes games was turning bases into death mazes and building forward bases. I also loved using the beacons and laser targeter to help Heavies motor bases. I could build forward bases in Tribes 1 because there were so many deployables. I would go light drop a cloak emitter, radar jammer, etc. I would go get whatever it was that could heal and resupply. Now my team was attacking from a direction the enemy team was unexpecting and had a really hard time trying to find. I want to say it was Tribes 2 that had a land vehicle that was deployed into a cloaked forward base. If the base was well defended I would move to sabotage duty. Focusing on getting into the enemy base, destroy generators, destroy everything else. I remember playing whatever games came after Tribes 2. The maps felt smaller and simpler. The bases felt simpler as well. While at the same time the deployables were few. Yes, a big part of Tribes was the combat which I was okay at. I was building death mazes and would need to protect them as well as stop the flag carriers. Problems I ran into with what games came after Tribes 2 is everything seemed focused on combat and I couldn't support the team with the above methods. The recent games seemed to be combat or nothing. So if the enemy team has really good players, they are probably going to steam roll mine. If I wasn't at their level I was essentially wasting a spot that a more skilled player could take. This is why I loved doing the support work. I might not be able to defeat you one on one but, I am going to bull a Batman by prepping with every tool to level the playing field.

""" I've played T2 mostly, and I had just the time to bite T1: being a fan of T2 I can recall that days when we had the base game, and T1 players were so frustrated and disappointed. Then T2 Classic was built, and everybody was happy. T:Vengeance insted was not well received since the beginning, at, at least for the Italian part, the community faded. My feeling with T3 is great till now: I enjoyed the latest 2 playtests that I've played with. I like the way that the Dev team is running playtests. Collective feedback is the only way to build a great game that we will all love, and play for the next decade. The major concern that I hear from my peers mostly falls into the stuff that needs to and can be tweaked, such as hitbox size, speed of projectiles, speed of the overall game, and elements of the maps. The only concern that is game-related, so to speak, falls into the category "Base Tactics": not having the inventories to change your loadout, but rather a respawn, low down the needs to run tactics around the base to keep generator/turrets up. In my opinion, this is beneficial for non-comp games: players can jump into the game and play with a lesser steep learning curve and still have fun. Tho I'm not so picky and I like a change in the game that can bring in new players. Because to be completely honest, the title should not rely on 40yo players driven by nostalgia. We need new blood. Kudos to the dev team, kudos to all the community members @fishstix @greth, you, and all the players that are streaming on Twitch and sharing content on RU-vid. This is a new way to create the community and bring back Tribes to the old glories.

I loved Tribes. It was one best games I ever played. I spent hours upon hours in Tribes and Tribes 2. That being said I have no desire to play Ttibes Rivals. Part of what I loved about Tribes was players could create their maps and the modding. As I said I played Tribes and I played on UR 3 mods. Which meant you had unlimited access to jet packs. I become a God on the UR3. I wrecked some of the most experienced Tribes playes. I sent regular server players back to vanilla servers. I was so good I hold an entire team off by myself run the clock down. Then at last second grab the enemy flag cap ot and win the game. I love those days. I have some the best gaming experience of my life in Tribes. Part of that was the map creation and modding. This game just feels like updated version of Tribes Ascended. Just feels wrong to not let players mod the game and develope maps. As much as I hate saying it my Tribes days are done.

Sorry to hear that but I can relate. I picked up Vengeance in high school and had some of the best times with the people I played with and with the game in general. Nothing has really reached that level since, though I remain hopeful and have a blast with the people and this game as well. I appreciate you taking the time to watch the video and leave a comment. Never played the gameplay mods but i remember modding the game with UI scripts and cosmetic skins in T1 and T2. It made the game look beautiful with custom skins for everything you can imagine, UI scripts with information you wouldn't normally have (sort of like you can in WoW) and also some stupid gameplay scripts like auto mine+disc but it wasn't game breaking. There was total freedom of what you wanted to do with your game as long as it wasn't cheating. Nowadays we have to pay for skins, UI scripting is completely gone and it's all... just sad.

The inheritance slider is everything I've ever wanted. As someone who started from T2 I really missed inheritance in T:A, and requested more inheritance for feedback. Getting the slider so all are happy with it I think is the smart solution.

Couldn't agree more. I know there was some initial rumbling about having that level of customization rather than a standard weapon but it's gone over incredibly.

Ok, to be fair towards using disks in Ascend, I'm an Ascend freak. I think I clobbered more hours onto Tribes Ascend than Rainbow Six Siege, Apex, TF2 (both team fortress and titanfall) and CSGO together, and let me tell you, I've got 2k hours in R6, 1.5k hours in csgo, and almost 2k hours in Apex, and I dont even want to mention Team Fortress 2, with most of my hours being in Soldier, demoman, and medic. The disks were genuinely so satisfying to use in TA, in a way that non of the other tribes games have been able to replicate. It got to the point where using the disks felt like hitting airshots in Team Fortress 2 as soldier, and some of us actually got really fucking good at using em. Yes, they were slow, but most players were also incredibly predictable, so half the time you werent actually aiming, you were predicting based on an enemy players speed and height. i know 'git gud' is a classic cop out that everyone hates to hear, but... it genuinely WAS like that.

i think youre right on point with that! i even feel a bit of shot delay with the light spinfusor...so yeah..fix that and the projectile speed an make airmovement smoother!

Easy to land fast fusors have made defense very oppressive and it's rare to win against numbers, but chain in TA would've yielded the same result

honestly my trust with Prophecy has been broken since Starsiege. I urge that people don't give a single cent to Prophecy until we have some kind of assurance that Tribes 3 will reach 1.0. Otherwise I'm inclined to believe that they'll abandon Tribes 3 the moment that the going gets tough like they did with Starsiege.

There is an interview with Prophecy head of gameplay by SaltyOctopus that just dropped yesterday. Makes things look really good going forward. I'd recommend giving it a listen. If they betrayed your trust too much, fair enough. But hope you give the interview and Tribes a chance and they don't let us down!
