I always jump for joy when I see a new video from you about flag routes. I'm use Pathfinder 98% of the time, so these videos certainly help. Especially on Raindance (since there aren't any back to front routes) Thank you sir!

I usually record directly into an audio track in Sony Vegas. There's no replacement for a good mic, which is why I use a Blue Snowball. I'm sure you can do some editing in Audacity or another program to reduce background noise and whatnot, but with a high quality mic, I haven't found the need to perform any sound editing.

If you're just trying to gain speed as you move forward, then no. But if you're closing in on a flag pickup, then yes, you want to be careful because your disk/nitron placement can alter your direction slightly and throw you off your desired path if you aren't careful.

Some weapons may be subjectively stronger than others, but that doesn't make it pay-to-win, since you can acquire any weapon through playtime alone. If you feel the XP grind is taking too long, that's why they sell boosters (which are well worth the money if you play often).

As long as you have three nitrons, you should still be able to run the routes in this video without the thrust pack or egocentric. That being said, if you're looking to be an effective flag capper, those should be some of your first unlocks.

It really just depends on the route you're running and your own preference. Your objective as a capper is typically to get the fastest grab possible with the highest amount of health, and there's more than one valid way to achieve that goal.

If you're talking about the advanced Diamond Sword route, that's pretty difficult to hit consistently. Other than that, getting in position after the last nitron can take quite a bit of practice, depending on the route.

If you're having trouble with energy conservation, try using the energy recharge pack in place of the thrust pack while you're learning routes. Just start the route on an incline to gain speed at the beginning.

Yes, I'm using the Egocentric and Reach perks. You'll often see Pathfinders suicide after capping because it's the quickest way to get started on a new route with a full set of impact nitrons.

Raindance was originally a Tribes 1 map, and Hi-Rez opted to keep the version in Tribes Ascend very faithful to the original, which is why the flag stand and generator room are designed the way they are.

These routes are still viable after the impact nitron nerf; you just have to be a little creative in dropping 2 discs or using 1 disc + 1 explosive nitron. Give it some practice!

XP gain is mostly time-based, so there's no magic bullet to leveling up quickly. I've played a lot of Tribes, and I have a booster active to maximize XP gain.

You typically want to stay jetting going uphill until you're in the air completely, then jet just enough to land smoothly on the next hill in the route.

I'm not sure I completely understand your question, but if you're going up a hill, you'll usually want to be jetpacking when you drop a disc/nitron.

Hello! I am new to Tribes and am having some difficulty with nitron jumps. I watched this video about 18 times in order to get the path all correct, but I am having trouble with nitron jumps like at the very end. My first and second are good, but the third has a larger (from what I can tell) need for precision since it needs to catapult you right at the flag. Do you have any tips for practicing this or is it just a skill that needs to be worked on a lot?

Im kinda new to Tribes and I need some opinions on something I've been thinking about the entire time I've been playing. The Jackal and the Stealthspinfusor seem to be really REALLY much better than the smg you start with, and since they are both really expensive (both XP and gold) doesn't that make those two items kind of "pay to win"? Might just be me using the smg wrong but all the other smgs are much better in my opinion.

Dude if you want any help building a PC I'd be happy to help. I've taken a look at the KBMOD budget build which I assume is what you're referring to and frankly I think it could be better for the money...I'm in the UK so kinda hard to tell with price differences and exchange rates etc but either way send me a PM if you want my help, I've built 19 PCs now so hopefully that means I know what I'm talking about XD (If you want a quick answer then yes, it will likely be fine for what you want)

I don't often play CTF, but this is my favorite map when I do. All I do is put 3 claymores pretty much on and around the flagstand, and if they don't kill a would-be capper then I just need a snipe or two. Unless they've got someone else taking the claymores out, it's almost guaranteed that at least 1 of them will hit a capper. They really should change the flagstand layout, along with that genroom. Dunno what they were thinking.

While I have no experience recording console gameplay with a HD PVR, I assume the KBMOD starter build should handle that task just fine.

I know you want to be jetting when you disc/grenade, but do you keep doing it or just let the momentum from the boost carry you over the hill, or do you jet as well? I'm just asking because it seems on some tribes routes, people throw their nades at a very specific angle at a very specific time, and not necessarily because they don't have the energy to make the following jet.

Hey Brandon thanks for those vids!! Do you have tips for saving energy? Most of the time i cannot complete a route because i don't have enough energy while you seem to barely use your jetpack once you pop out of a hill. I already worked on the subtility between jump/jet and jet but i think i missed something else. THX!

I'm very familiar with the game at this point, so it doesn't take me very long to master these routes, but your mileage may vary.

Ok, I'll keep working at it. Just so frustrating to hit 300 kph and then miss the flag because of my last nitron. Sounds like it is just practice practice practice though. Thank you so much for videos like this, they really help out the beginner community (I can't speak for the advanced players).

Purchasing gold isn't the only way to get it. When you refer more than 10 people, you start earning gold. 500 for 10 referrals, 1000 for 25, and you get a full premium gold pack for 100 referrals. If you can get 250 referrals, you'll get a total of 38,000 gold.

Yes, you will often need teammates helping you clear the enemy flag stand if you hope to actually make it out of the enemy base.

I only llama when there's literally no-one at the enemy stand, and no-one coming in. I'll pass it off to a Path if they come by, though. It's fun, however, to just walk up, grab the flag, and then casually stroll out of their base until they notice you.

I realize that, and I probably should have mentioned that. Regardless, I think it could and should be improved upon. As it stands, Raindance (and Temple Ruins) practically "disconnect on sight" maps.

FPS is typically 60+ in Tribes, but depends heavily on the map. And yes, a GTX 570 should serve you very well.

Raindance is a mirrored map, so these routes are applicable to either side.

Light spinfusor is better for capping because it clears mines better with it's higher radius.
