@alanrossreviews You can't help but love the Tribit product support. With FW V1.2.8 you can now assign the EQ button as you wish. This means that you no longer have to open the app every time you want to switch back from "XBass" to any custom setting, for example. Great! 🤩
I can't see how your channel hasn't blown up on youtube yet. Well, at least I can't without being cynical. It's not only that it provides honest reviews and forces companies to react, it's also that I end up learning a lot about audio, and scratching several of my geeky itches at the same time. Stellar work Alan. Steady as she goes!
🤷♀️ blown up in a good way right? 😁 its all good, its nice to be popular and have clout but its not why im here, first off to enjoy youtubing and second to put out info that i wanted myself but wasnt getting. anything else is a bonus and i have a solid core of followers that support me which is all i need to keep going 😋
@@alanrossreviews I'm not sure, with only 9 bands non-parametric it seems alright to avoid making significant peaks or dips. It's easier to use and hear also for a normal user who doesn't have access to frequency measurements. At 7:00 using these 150 Hz and 300 Hz bands, I see some potential, and the 600 Hz one up a tiny bit to counter that dip at 650 Hz. Did you start playing with it to make you own tuning? How did it go. But yeah since they're wide it requires to touch several bands each time instead of a single one due to the overlap.
@@alanrossreviewsbut.. that's the opportunity to make 3 videos a days on all firmware updates and subsequent EQ tweaks! That nobody will watch 😅 I get you, that makes sense.
Soundpoor eat your heart out 😁 those *uckers are doing it to me again. Over a week ago after my post saying my 300 review is delayed because soundcore wont send me one, i mean techder got his too but they don't want full details out there and ignored my email.. Anyway after my IG post they emailed to say Cedrick the bullshitter had left and they would like to now send me the 300. I told them i already bought one so why not send the x500 instead. So they said sure they will post today. A week later i asked where it was and they said logistics problems lol i should be patient and wait. Today i asked for eta since all the shills now have their sponsored bullshit up 😂 of course nothing. Honestly never dealt with a worse company than soundoor.
Very nice tribit always hear the users, hopfully you can help and they can refine the speaker... We would like to see a colab.. "Tribit Stormbox splash Tinned by Ross 😂
ive always said someone should make a speaker that has an alanross eq and an oluv eq, how do you think that would go? oluv liking a neutral clean sound and me liking a warm sound and can happily trade a LITTLE distortion for more bass depth. 🤞 the battle of EQs!
I really love this kind of immediate positive feedback, thanks Alan for your detailed work as usual Tribit is really setting a good pace for em budget BT speakers, the "Blast" a king of budget boombox that gives value for money & outperforms some costlier competitors, the "Micro 2" a pocket king...and many more, on that note, the Micro 2 latest firmware for my region is 1.2.4, if you have time, you can check it out later, we rely on your verdict, EQ & more to make the best out of our portable ear pleasers😃 What small speaker will you recommend for a full sounding bass, clean mids & highs, warm sound signature at low volumes(20-35%) mainly to be used on top of office desk during work & for night sleep et all, ability of tws is a bonus Price($60 - $80)
Well how small? Your asking a lot for a small speaker to be warm and clean through mids and highs. Id say boost with custom eq but its not got the best highs.
@@alanrossreviews Oh, i see! The upgraded Boost is around $45, i'll go for it then, maybe two for TWS Before i go for it, one more question pls, since its not that great on highs but Ok, how's the clarity compared to motion boom when both are EQed with Alan Ross EQ of course
@@alanrossreviews Agreed, bigger is always better just like Blast is better than boom & boom is better than boost and so on, portability issue & case use has always been the major reason for diversity among others Thanks for the reply Alan, i know what i must do
Tribit listed an intelligible update description? 🤯 That's a nice change from the norm. Might be a sign of the end times though. 😧 At least it seems like Tribit is trying to take logical steps towards a better product unlike certain other companies that seem to like the throw 💩 to the wall and see what sticks approach. Thank you for another excellent update, Alan! 😁👍👏
I really like how you add frequency curve. It really helps me to understand how bright or how warm the speaker is at a given volume. Great work as usual!
@@alanrossreviews Still happy with my four little champs : Charge 5, Tribit XSound Mega, Tribit Maxsound Plus and Mifa Wildrod (updated to 1.17). 😁 No need for more small speakers for now. Thinking of getting a Partybox 110 though 👍
Hello Alan. Thank you in advance for your valuable, professional and authentic work and always with the right amount of humor!!! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 I bought two Tribit Stormbox Flow and I am generally very satisfied and happy with them, especially with the EQ X-Bass on and the current firmware 1.2.5. Nevertheless, the question is whether you have found or measured optimized, individual EQ settings, as is the case with the Soundcore Motion Boom, for example, of which I also have two. Thank you very much and best regards from Hamburg, Ralph
no i really dont have enough time to eq everything unless its a go to speaker for mer which the flow isnt as i have the flex. also it takes time for the firmwares to settle so i like tow ait these days before going for an eq.
I decided to pull the trigger on The StormBox Flow. $51. It arrived yesterday. Created a V shape with the custom EQ (still fiddling with it btw) and so far I ain’t mad at it. Far from it actually. Even though The Flow doesn’t have orientational EQ it’s still a very good budget alternative to The Soundlink Flex. My only grievances so far, and they’re not major, is the bass plateauing at 60/70 percent and the app is a smidge on the wonky side.
🤷♂️🤷♂️ yeah people are overlooking the flow because of the 300 but really they sound quite different and its cheaper, certainly not a bad option but still prone to a little distortion.
Great stuff, Alan. Much appreciated. With the firmware update has the Flow finally become more compelling than the Bose Flex? I'm planning to replace my Logitech UE mobile Boombox with one of them primarily for taking phone calls and casual listening (youtube vids and so on). I'd obviously be happy with one of the smaller Marshall Willens ot a Tribit Micro, but I ilke the sound quality on the Flex/Flow better.
@@alanrossreviews the speaker it's 🆗, but I trying to armonise the sound, I'll try the how resistant the speaker it's and if really stereo sound it it's, but I thing it's a decent speaker. Compare with some other from same company, the Bose it's way better but it's not so resistent. I have already bought 2 😞 but I just use them like a allroad car 😂 Im searching a good contender... Comming back to the sound quality it's ok but Bose it's better.
But still disppointed on the flow, love the storm, the pro and the micro 2, was considering to get the flow but its basically an oversized micro with a bass close but not equal to the first stormbox, might consider the motion 300 as i was searching for a portable stereo bluetooth speaker
is an oversized micro 2 be all that bad? 😁 its not earth shattering but ok for the money and now we have the 300 i can see then having to drop the price near $50
@@alanrossreviews maybe but i am just expecting more of it since all the previous stormbox are very good especially the micro 2 for its loudness and small size, i am just expecting maybe a stereo and not a mono since micro 2 is already available
I want to buy either this or the bose flex, idk why but i like the shape and look of this kind of pocket speaker, and it kicks nicely. But the bose flex is kinda outdated, has bluetooth 4.2, doesn't have the app, but is a very solid speaker with no distortion On the other hand, tribit came less expensive, new bluetooth, app support, but the tuning is what im questioning here, oluv compared these two (without any firmwares) And said the bose sounded more opened and has nicer bass with pronounced kicks at higher volumes while the tribit sounded kinda off.. What do you think about the tribit now after the firmwares and eq presets? Could it sound similar?
This or xsound plus 2? Wanna listen to rap so would like bass heavy, but also listen to Elliot smith and other melodies. Or do you recommend something else, around the same budget?
Hi Alan! Got a problem and a question to you, as I always really appreciate your opinion. First of all, I have a Motion Boom speaker. I am using your custom EQ for 2 years now since I've bought it and everything was good, I was really enjoying this speaker. Since around 20th October I have a problem with buzzing noice. It doesn't matter how loud the speaker is, if there is heavy bass music or more highs and mids focused music, it is really annoying. I am @00.43 firmware version. Did you noticed same problems? What I have noticed is, when I turn the Bass Boost off everything is "fine" (the buzzing noice does not appear). If you have a solution to this I would be more than grateful to share it with me. if not, what speaker on a "budget" would you suggest to me? I am torn between Motion Boom Plus (but kinda worried I will come along same problems as with Motion Boom), Tribit Stormbox Blast or 2x Tribit Stormbox Flow. I always appreciate clarity and balance while listening to music, but from a speaker I want pretty much always big rich bass. Thank you in advance!
something up with your speaker i havent heard that issue before. tribit stormbox blast is the upgrade to the boom, not the boom plus which is a bit harsh and more of an outdoor listen.
Please help me.sellect between tribit storm box flow and ear fun u boom l I want deep bass sound with Better clarity!!! Both are on the same budget so I'm very much confused between these two !!!
@@alanrossreviewsin india around 5000 to 6000. Budget only these options are available that's why Any other recommendations in these budget from your side ???
@@alanrossreviews since Soundcore boost is not available in india I would prefer going with uboom I hope I will get deep bass with good clarity of i tune it well using oluvs or yours eq !!! It would be a better option for me right???
@@saayanth033ck3 i wouldnt say its a bass heavy speaker as such, actually oluv avoided that but for the money its good value. the alternative is the motion boom or motion plus
they market the f*&k out of a speaker, claim all sorts of bullshit, fix nothing, then move on to the next one, this is there new model. shame on you soundcore.
@@alanrossreviews Oh....ok, this is super critical to me and hence cant be improved by software in future aswell...was an inch away from buying it, saved me...thanks for the reply :).Subbed.
can you please confirm if the latest firmware updates have fixed the latency issues? Thanks. Also which one do you suggest between this and the uboom L?
