My little tribute to Channel 4 American Football in the 80's. Clips picked from various NFL Films and the music is Jewel by Propaganda; a song often used in C4 presentations.
Hope these bring back some memories for British NFL fans and I'll try and make some other compilations in the future!

Reminds me of autumn 1988 in Scotland watching Channel 4 on a Sunday evening at 6PM and then moving to my bedroom to listen to crappy radio of USA west coast games on AFRTS...This music will always remind me of that time!

AFRTS, god remember trying to wire up all manner of aerial contraptions to try and pick this up, was fine after 8pm

I found AFR by pure chance on my old Hitachi DRPS ghetto blaster in 87-88. I could hear the early games up to around 21:30 and then the reception got progressively worse. Found out only a few months ago that the reason why reception was lost after that time was because the radio waves were bouncing off the ionosphere which was excited by the sun's rays. Once the sun set on our part of the world the wave no longer "bounced" and so reception was lost. The 80s' were the best times for everything American here in the U.K. I think. I miss those days.

I can remember practically all the players in this montage, especially all the Hawks players. I used to video every game on Channel 4, and watch them through out the off season. I can't believe it's coming up to 40 years it's seems like it was only yesterday. Thank you for the memories. Go Hawks

This brings back so many memories. I was around 10 years old and where I became a lifelong Dolphins fan. Four years later I started to play for the St Helens Cardinals in the kids team first then adult squad and loved every minute. I ended up with a snapped tibia and fibula at 13 and a bad concussion at 14, but it was “fun” in an odd way.

This was my so my time, aged 17 just getting into American Football. And this was the soundtrack, great job.

Loved all these, 2 that really stood out to me from the 1988/89 Season I vsnt find anywhere! Suoerbowl 23 had a few compilations at half time with various categories, from Buck Rogers gwttingbfkrrd by the lions, funny moments, Lawrence Taylor (Set to "Like a Rock") Post match compilation from Eagles @ Bears, around Week 13, game was a total whiteout with fog, set to "Planet Earth" Been looking for what feels like forever! 😂

Annoyingly, I have them on video, but no player! Definitely remember 'Like a Rock' and a sacked coaches montage (?) to 'True Colors'. Glanville 'all shook up' and of course, 'America for Beginners; I think I need to make some new compilations!
