gratuitous- out of place, unwarranted solicitous- someone concerned about your wellbeing demure- shy, coy demur- objection inveigh- speak or write something with hostility inveigle- to use flattery, coax someone to do something impertinent- someone rude redoubtable- someone scary, worthy of awe dissemble- put on a false face

I was glad to learn these words, I definitely would’ve been tricked on the test. Although I do wish as each word was presented it wasn’t followed by the wrong definition because that linked them and made it harder for me to remember they were tricky when I studied. Also maybe post the correct definition with the written word on the screen, just an added ways to reinforce. Overall this helped, taught more words & his energy level is great, so it’s not just reading definitions.

I may sound impertinent for inveighing the directors but being a solicitous person nature I strongly demur the gratuitous child abuse shown in the movie. Although I'm not a redoubtable reviewer but still the director tried to inveigle me to dissemble my emotions by asking me to rate 5 stars

That's why we have to practice learning and using as many words as possible! There's no predicting exactly what will appear on the exam on any given day.

I think you mispronounced the word "demur". The two words "demur" and "demure" are pronounced very different.

Indeed, "demure" is more like "mer" than "mure." They can sound similar in context though!

Demur and demure pronounced DIFFERENTLY, not homophones. Demur (de-merr). Demure (de-myoor).
