I learned so much! This was incredibly useful, many thanks! I have wood working tools but this is mechanical engineering and chemistry. Funny how all the sciences intrude on the arts - structural for wood, metal, and fabrics, mechanical for jewelry and metal, chemistry for jewelry and cooking, etc. Not enough time in one life to learn them all but I'm getting there slowly.

Thank you so much for this video! ❤️🙏🏻❤️ I’m currently struggling to even get the saw to go up and down!!! 😩😑 It’s as if it gets stuck in the metal! 😧 I guess I should push it a little more perhaps? 🤔 I’m following the table that shows the size of the saw depending on the thickness of the metal, and I am loading it in the correct orientation (I’m also using the Green Lion saw frame), so yeah … sawing is a struggle for me at the moment 😓

Yes the discount code is only good tell 10/31/18 as for the Knew Concepts saws, they look like that would be an awesome saw. I wasn't able to get my hands on one for this video and I might be able to in the future. I do know that Ottofrei does sell them so if you wanted to get one you can get it for a little cheaper. I print my designs onto printer paper and use double sided carpet tape which i have three sizes of it up to 2 inch. The tape peels off or soaks off and the adhesive residue cleans up perfectly with white spirit. Regarding the printer paper I use ordinary A4 paper and I print the same image lots of times in various sizes and keep what I don't use for future use in a folder.

GomeowCreations I got mine from Rio Grande. It was the cheapest one I found. It was about $65 for the 3" frame. I thought I ordered the 5" frame, but it is a 3". Oh well. I also have the same 8" German frame you have in your video. Works for me though. I moved the tightening screws to the right side last night (OMG! Easy.) because I am tired of hammering my fingers on my left hand. So annoying! Be sure you get one with the tensioner. So much better than tensioning the frame by bending. There is also a free used to get exact tension. Brilliantly. I skipped the swivel model. There is actually a measure in the top of the frame to measure your blades! I don't cut huge pieces. At least not right now. Although I did just by a 6"X12" 18 ga hunk of copper .... ;-) Cheers. If you get one, let me know what you think. I first heard about it from. Andrew Berry here on RU-vid. It's very pretty, too. Frosty red.

Okay Randy, so here’s my question. I bought a green lion curved jewelers saw a few years ago and I’ve yet to find any tutorial videos on how to adjust the saw tension. There’s no lever or screw to tighten the saw blades tension. I’ve had this saw for almost 2 years and practically haven’t touched it because every time I try to set it up the saw blade has way to much slack. If you could please explain how to adjust the saw blade tension on a curved jewelers saw that would be awesome! Thanks man.

Hi sir, I learnt a lot from this video. I have a doubt? If I wanna cut wood with this jewelry saw, which blade should I use
@GomeowCreations
@GomeowCreations 6 лет назад
We'll it really depends on how thick the wood is. Like then I cut the bench pin I used a size 3 blade and it cut through it very fast and easy. If you want to do thinner wood like 3-4mm you can cut it with a 2/0 with no problem if the wood is soft. You will have to test out the blades to see what you like and what works the best for you.
@philhunt1442
@philhunt1442 Год назад
Do you just use paraffin wax to lubricate the blade?
@rocioguillen3160
@rocioguillen3160 5 лет назад
I bought a set of very fine blades and when I try to put them on my saw, they snap just by closing the clamps. I’m new at this so please excuse this question. Is that supposed to happen? I cannot tighten the blade at all without it snapping. Are they defective? Please tell me what size blade do I need to get to cut jump rings from 16g copper wire. Thank you for all the info you share.
@GomeowCreations
@GomeowCreations 5 лет назад
It sounds like you might be setting it too thigh, this will snap the blades. As for the 16g jump rings you can use size a 3 or 4 saw blade, make sure to use a lube to make it easier.

This was super helpful, thank you! I have this other issue with my saw blades popping out of my saw frame after a few strokes in the metal. I thought it was my original saw frame as I got it in a kit, but I recently bought a second saw frame (still a bit of a cheapie) and it is still doing it! I am tightening the ends as much as I physically can, but it is still coming out. Today it kept happening so much, I gave up at my bench. Is there any reason why this might be happening?
