Hey Darrin! Very cool! These are the only rotors that I have used that have been mount and forget. I have not had to true either one of them a single time and have not had to realign a caliper to stop any rotor/pad rub.... far and away the best rotors I have owned and worth every penny. @@ThunderStruckMTB it actually did and forced me to investigate further! Really surprised there is so few mentions of the issue though! That video of yours is one of very few pointing to the crazy Tarzan style swing and consequential chain slack.
I did notice the higher rise renthal bars on your bike too! I'm a resin guy, also thinking about howl etc. just upgraded to SLX 180mm front/160 rear 6 bolt rotors and SLX 7120 brakes as I heard the modulation was better compared to the on/off feel of the 2 pot versions. Front was easy to obtain, but due to rear brake stock availability, I ended up buying the 2 piston version and swapped in a separate 4 piston caliper. I'm all good for bars and have a set of SQlabs 311's with 16deg backsweep on the way for my GT avalanche. Keep on rambling 👍
Hi Colin, great to see you again! You have a GT Avalanche?? My very first MTB was a 1987 GT Avalanche! I was only 19 and had to finance the $690 sales price. I absolutely loved that bike and I kept it until just 3 years ago, when I wanted it to have a home and be ridden instead of just hanging on my wall, so I gave it away. Your Avalanche sounds awesome and you have some really good parts on it. Thank you for letting me know that you are good on bars and are happy with your incoming SQlabs 311s, very much appreciated!😉 ... @@ThunderStruckMTBHey there, it's a newer 2021 GT, but I have upgraded everything. 😉 Loving it! I'm very keen to see what the backsweep is like too. I have an SQlabs 611 active saddle which is good, so though I'd try the bars too.
