www.crosstrainingenduro.com tractionerag.com Some overnight rain, clay, tree roots and rocks means this technical climb is a pile of fun and tricky - at least by our gumby standards! Where are we? Greenstone Mountain Provincial Park in British Columbia. This is dirt riding Nirvana - hundreds of kilometres of track ranging from wild to mild. A huge shout out to the guys from Greater Kamloops Motorcycle Assocation. These guys put countless hours into maintaining tracks and also volunteered their time to show us muppets around their dirt bike paradise. Our bikes? The tough little Honda CRF250RX. It took a while to adapt to a four stroke again and at this point of the trip I was still stalling a lot and blaming the bike instead of my clutch technique. Are you a beginner dirt rider? Interested in hard enduro riding, endurocross training or wheelies? Watch top trials riders like Graham Jarvis, Chris Birch or Tim Coleman. It's like poetry in motion - from a standing start they can flip their bikes in mid air through 180 degrees, or climb a six foot vertical wall... no dirt bike fails for these guys so get into our enduro training videos. A key is the use of body positioning and 'weighting' - choose when to exert pressure on the pegs and when to 'de-weight' or lift the bike up. But by the end of the trip I was thinking it would be cool to have one of these in the garage if I had buckets of money. Okay here's where the climb starts. Standing on the pegs for as long as possible to get better traction. And here is where the fun starts, with great opportunities for roosting. Want to learn how to ride dirt bikes with our free enduro training videos? Cross Training Enduro is a mix of trials and dirt riding techniques. This dirt bike channel also includes lots of wheelies, philosophy, reviews, and dirt bike fails videos. Years ago in our coaching sessions with Chris Birch, he said think outside the box. Look for lines that no one is using. So I pop around here to see if I get a better run up at the harder line. Then it's back to the regular climbs although there are always bunches of tree roots to keep it interesting. With tree roots on a climb, I try to stand on the footpegs when possible and keep my weight to the rear for traction and keep the front light so it's less likely to deflect. Try to weight the footpegs just before you hit the roots, and deweight as you go over them. Enduro training tips are based on techniques from Chris Birch, Graham Jarvis, Tim Coleman and other hard enduro riders. So learn how to ride enduro bikes our vids range from basics for the beginner dirt rider to advanced hard enduro racing!! And of course, back off the throttle very briefly so the rear wheel doesn't spin. It's amazing how useful this is for getting over wet tree roots even on a fairly steep climb. Trials riders can balance at a stand still for as long as they like - good for hard enduro riding! If you haven't seen our video about weighting and deweighting, here is a brief summary. Become a subscriber to this dirt bike channel for extreme enduro training tips vids with techniques from Graham Jarvis, Ruben Chadwick, and Tim Coleman on wheelies, pivot turns, clutch control, traction and other critical skills for learning how to ride a dirt bike videos for beginners or enduro racers. Again a big thanks to the guys from Greater Kamloops Motorcycle Assocation. So many rider riders are complaining about losing riding areas but aren't willing to actually do anything about it. So it's incredible to see these guys have worked with the authorities to establish so much beautiful single track and even get funding to maintain the trails. Nice work guys. We also have enduro fail vids lol. The cross training enduro vids on our dirt bike channel apply the same skills to enduro bikes - you'll be amazed at the difference it makes in terms of traction and advanced techniques such as jumping up vertical rock faces ... and wheelies! Everything in tough gnarly terrain is trying to throw you off balance, so balancing lays a foundation for enduro skills for guys like Jonny Walker and Ruben Chadwick.

I kinda wish I had gotten the 2020 RX , but I got the crf 250 F trail bike , I like it it’s very smooth and great for a new rider , and as I commented a few videos ago thanks again for these videos man . My 6 year old son watches these with me and I see him using these techniques while riding , without him even knowing he’s doing it .lol makes me jealous as he will very soon out pace me in the skills department

have you had a good ride on the RX yet? everyone's opinion will vary, but i found it geared too much toward competition level riding... suspension was pretty harsh if you were pottering around, needed a much heavier flywheel, the narrow range gearbox was a pain etc. still fun to ride! but hard work if you weren't always gunning it.

Thanks for the vids, mate. I know it's got nothing on your injury but I have recently torn ligaments in my ankle and sprained my knee and have been bingeing on your RU-vid vids. So thanks for keeping me sane and hope your recovery is going well.

ouch. both in the one accident? mind if i ask what sort of boots you were wearing? and knee braces, if any? i know this sort of thing can happen even with the best gear but always interested as i'll be redoing the protective gear vids at some point. heal fast!

@@crosstrainingenduro yeah, both in the same accident but unfortunately it wasn't on the bike. Was chasing my 3yr old daughter around the house ran into the kitchen and our dog had spewed on the floor. I slipped in it and my left leg went under me with my ankle facing back and inward. Was fairly comical laying there in agony in dog spew with the dog apologizing by licking my face. Kinda wish I was wearing my Gaerne boots though haha! Thanks Barry

I too was excited when the 250rx was first released but Honda Australia decided we don't deserve it. The CRF250X was an awesome bike for us mere mortals.

i guess we don't have the thriving GNCC scene like the USA that would suit the bike?

@@crosstrainingenduro You're right. It would be nice to see a 250 equivalent of the CRF450L.

Well a Honda in the garage is a good thing. It's cheap as chips, it's always there. Just like a Postie you never have to apologize for it!

Oh yes! That terrain is very similar to what i ride in north thailand. I almost died up there 2 nights ago. Im planning the 8km return hike to try to recover my bike in 2 days time....if my dodgy old ticker can manage the climb on foot. :(
@crosstrainingenduro
@crosstrainingenduro 3 года назад
sounds like a story there! we've had to do two bike recoveries but only one was a bit dangerous... one of our guys went for a solo ride then got lost, then stuck, then badly dehydrated with the sun about to go down when he finally staggered back to his car.

Awesome vid, I use to live in Golden, my bike had a Briggs and Stratton engine back then🛴. Hey I was wondering what your latest knee brace was, 🤔I saw your vids on CTI, I didn't know if that opinion had change or if you found something better ish. How did they turn out🧐. Also in reference to your footwear when you were wearing TCX boots and still got your foot broke -- Was it a cheaper model or just the brand itself that you felt wasn't enough protection.🥾 I was looking at a pair of TCX Drifters WP (ya the joy of foot sweat😅 ) for trail and campsite ish wear. I know your not big into branding but would appreciate your opinion. 😇Glad your doing better, and good job putting out such excellent content- especially under the influence of drugs 🥱or pain 😬whatever your choice is heh Tx4V 👍😎
@crosstrainingenduro
@crosstrainingenduro 3 года назад
still with the CTi braces, Ash. They have been used for hundreds of rides over three years and are still in great shape, but the elastic holding the knee cups is finally getting bit frayed and will need replacing soon. Broken foot? Was wearing the top shelf TCX boots, not sure if other brands might have resisted the full weight of the bike slamming down... TCX are now made in China so I reckon the quality would be much worse now, see our vid "Where are your boots made?"

@@crosstrainingenduro Ooooh ya I saw it it wasn't the tip of the iceburg, it was just the ice cube, that is a huge problem thats only going to get bigger.😷🙈🙉🙊 That's why Im looking at Forma Terra EVO Boots aka Romanias finest boot heh (thanks for that info dump). I figure they may take it seriously since they have a growing motorcycle tourist /competition going on.🤞 That and it has a steel shank too🔨. Just FYI we got a guy over here called Tdubskid who has high praise for them too. 🦖 Also I looked at your support page on your vids - is that in Vimeo format or what ? 🤔 Tx and keep up the good work 👍

I've got one. It's my first and only bike, so it's hard to give a real review. I'm only trail riding and I'm glad it's the bike I went with. I'm riding with people who have been riding 20 years and they're taking me to their "technical trails" (their words not mine) and the bike does awesome. I'm definitely the limiting factor when it comes to the capability of the bike. 😅
