I was at this show and they asked us to all take out our phones and record them for this video. They played this right after they announced Yoshida as their new permanent drummer
I was wondering why EVERYONE had their phones out. I feel like it's sad when that happens because you should just be IN THE MOMENT at a concert! Maybe take a few photos or a video of your favorite song...but otherwise, no phones!
tricot have really improved themselves even with their music style often changes. With Yoshida joining them as a permanent drummer after 3 years as a trio and Kida "Motifour" getting recognition from Tone Deaf as one of the "8 modern guitar heroes pushing the boundaries of the instrument", they've come a long way since they started.
Not taking anything away from Kida "Motifour" who is clearly awesome.... But in that article is another girl called Yvette Young. She plays in a band called Covet & her acoustic stuff is also great. Check her out if you haven't already. :)
elias321456 I understood your point fine. You don't like the fact that people are looking into their phone's viewfinder when the band is right in front of them. And I agree. MY point was that I've never seen so many people recording horizontally instead of vertically.
Srohalm4Me Typically, yes. The main assumption due to legal/copyright reasons and social predilections of common courtesy to the intellectual property of the artist and respect of privacy for both band members and concert visitors is that you are not allowed to take flash photography and/or recording. However, it is also completely up to the choice of the band as well. I've been to numerous concerts in Shibuya's WWW/ WWW X and some artists explicitly asked or gave the okay to record. So sometimes yes, sometimes no. When in doubt, assume no though out of respect.
On the Boom SOS Force it in, please respond An unidentified flying object rides on the boom I want to become a paranormal occurrence, an experimental result Red alert, acknowledge my existence It's swaying You're making this a little game of survival Pretending not to hear me again Driving me right and left, up and down With your hands Drink it all in before it goes sour Hold me tight so I won't float away Cause right now my body... is weightless SOS Force it in, please respond An unidentified flying object rides on the boom It's swaying Spaceship, acknowledge my existence! They're swaying The flickering neon lights Are like that star above my hometown And in the moments our attention wavered We ran out of fuel Just cast it off, without stubbornness The cutting edge is always sparkling and shining It's swaying Or drifting? You're making this a little game of survival Words are useless right now Flickering right and left, on and off In your eyes Tell me I'm more beautiful than the moon Are you that useless right now? If I'm ejected out It'll be to a space where I can't even breathe You're making this a little game of survival But that's fine too, so just shake it off Could it be just us two, alone in space? Don't ever grow older, okay? Don't ever get boring, either My body is weightless I can't resist
What really sets you guys apart is your songwriting. Really clever AND catchy stuff. I want to leave a concert singing the music for the next couple of days and your music does that for me. Also for the first time in my life, I wish that I knew how to speak Japanese so that I could understand your lyrics. I'm singing along like a fool anyway ;-) Also I think that you might be surprised at how much your popularity is picking up in the USA. The word is finally starting to get out. Please make more info about you guys available in English. I learned about you guys a month after you had been in Dallas with our own Polyphia. AHHHHHH!!!! Why didn't anyone tell me? Continued success.
