This is an excellent video. I was so stuck on wondering how I'd get step-down adapters for mating a lens to an ocular, I never even considered just sticking the ocular straight into a lens cap. Thanks!
Interesting suggestion. What size of object are you getting on the sensor? I assume it does not fill the whole sensor? also, I assume that the focusing is done at the microscope level, since there is no focusing/optics in the "lens".
George - your video is really nicely made, I have been buying camera adapters for my microscope for my DSLR, but I will give you simple method a try and I am going to link from my web site articles on photomicrography to your video. I am trying to build a viewing lamp with a flash for photomicrography to stop the motion of fast moving protozoa. My Nikon flash works great by itself, but when I put the flash under the condenser I can't see what the organisms are doing as it blocks all the light, so I have to find a way to combine a bright light source (LED or Halogen) with an electronic flash. I have seen a few tutorials on the web though they are great. I just want to say your video is first class - I hope to see more videos from you in the future. Thanks for posting.
I bought a camera adapter for my DSLR but the images are out of focus in the middle of the image. The adapter has no lens. It just attaches to the camera and slides into the eyepiece port. Do I need a lens inside the adapter?
