Is it worth it to buy an HX2 over the HX1? In one word YES. But now there's also the HX1 Facelift. What about that model?
First of all, if you do decide to purchase a Triflex, please consider purchasing one from us. We're a small business and would love it if you supported us!
Miele has definitely made great improvements on their HX1 Facelift and HX2 models. The comfort clean feature alone is worth it. This feature taps off the dirt from the filter so you don't have to clean it as often. But there's so much more.
Here is the link for the comparison chart that spells out all the differences between these units:
www.vac.md/single-post/miele-...
Going with the HX2 is very smart. The digital motor alone is 60% more powerful than the HX1 and HX1 Facelift. HX1 and HX2 will both certainly do the job on hard surfaces, they both pick up great, but you will have better maintenance of your carpeted and soft surfaces with the increased suction on the HX2. Also, if you have a smaller home, you COULD make the HX2 your only vacuum.
I still recommend having a corded vacuum if you have over 2000 sq ft. The HX2 might be used the majority of the time, but during deep cleanings, it's best to have a corded vacuum.

Excellent video, Miele are outstanding appliances, as for their corded vacuums the longevity and quality is as good today as it always has been, sounds like this is transferred to their cordless. I still have my parents old Miele Solution Plus from circa 1997-98. The motor is still going strong, only the housing that had finally lost one too many battles. Keep them clean, change the filters and they seem to run forever! I have just bought a cordless HX2 here in the UK, so I will be back with some great feedback soon I am sure!

Thanks for the video, very informative. If I can give a tip on recording in return, the brightness of your video keeps going up and down because your camera is set to auto exposure and you're pointing it at a window, which means it will be drastically adjusting every time a car drives past. Try having your presenter and display up against a solid wall and set the camera's exposure manually. A cheap lavalier mic would improve sound quality too cause you can get the mic nice and close to your subject.

About the filter replacement: Miele recommends every three years, not three months. The digital motor is 60% more powerful, not 60 times more powerful. The HX2 base model doesn't include the Headlight. You have this feature in your comparison picture.

Info exactly what I was looking up, thanks. And that cardboard pleated filter barely lasts 2 years- gets filthy and I think its a design flaw, its unhigenic from day one, can't wash it, clean it? Really? I'm used to removing a vac filter and washing/ air drying it, reusing with years of success in UK & France.

Very well-done video. 👍I have the same question about having a light plastic bag inside the dust cup, what is so good about the bag-less phenomenon? I despise having to look at any degree of whatever the vacuum cleaner picks up! Also, I have learned that these dust cups are very small which means having to empty them often. Why not give an extra one of those. At almost $1100 they can do it!

Great video. Thanks for sharing. One question I have, that my current LG Cord Zero I’m looking to replace does not do well with, is how does the HX2 handle larger debris like popcorn, cereal, and larger crumbs? It’s not a huge deal to lift the head over the debris and pull it backwards, but with the weight towards the bottom, is it more difficult to do so, or does it just do a great job without lifting it up and over? Admittedly, I’m lazy and wish cordless vacs had the old style height adjustment at the head you could just raise and lower with your toes. Thanks again.

From what I have heard before HX2 motors 60% more powerful than that of HX1. 60 times is not 60%. HX1 power consumption is 170 W. Multiplying this number by 60 we’ve got 10,200 W or 10.2 kW. Roughly it is power consumption of a motorbike.

Would love to see the Dyson v15 detect vs this machine. The hx1 was destroyed by the Dyson so wondering if this one competes. Also the pro is 1299 here in Canada and the Dyson is 999. I get your store probably is a Miele dealer and if this is the case please advise. Tx
@kimberly.thomason
@kimberly.thomason Год назад
We are a Miele dealer. But we also service Dyson’s on a daily basis. Plus, I’ve owned one myself (not the V15…but we have used and repaired them) I choose not to carry dyson. I choose not to because they are not as good as the Miele in quality and after sales support. If you are using it on hard surfaces, you probably won’t see much of a difference for the $300. If you have area rugs or carpet, the Miele will blow the Dyson V15 out of the water.

@@kimberly.thomason hi there and thanks for the reply. So our neo mastiff has severe allergies. We had to remove the carpets on the main floor where she hangs out. Essentially we have 1/2 horse stall mats as flooring or pure rubber runners. Having said that , sand and hair etc fall in the cracks. Our purchase is 95% for hard rubber or tiled surfaces. We might do the stairs which are carpeted. Our local shop is a Miele dealer as well but they tend to go hard on the Dyson is crap sales tactic which is bad business imo. Thanks for the honest answer. Prolly makes it easy to get the V15. The V8 stick is on sale for 399 here but seems like it’s probably too weak. Any thought on that ? Thanks again.

You say the Triflex is better than dyson in suction, quality, features and design. But how? What are you using for your comparison? Because the Triflex is limited in hard floor use. And its bin is unnecessarily complicated. I'm sorry but without a proper comparison, you're just throwing information out there without demonstrating your arguments are valid. Show us what you're talking about if you want to get your point through, because I can't see this vacuum being better than other cordless models.
@kimberly.thomason
@kimberly.thomason Год назад
Thank you so much for watching! This video wasn't meant to be a Triflex vs. Dyson comparison. But I guess I can't help but mention the Dyson whenever I speak about the Miele because so many consumers have them. Some of the aspects that make Miele better in my opinion as a retailer, consumer AND also owner of both Dyson and Miele would be the following: Miele is better made and better quality. It is made in Germany and it shows. Dysons are made in China and it shows. Miele has a much better brush roll for the agitation of carpeted surfaces. I don't have specs, you can just feel and see the difference. Miele has better after-sale support. The company is much more helpful and accessible if and when it is time for support. I am not sure what you mean about limited hard floor use...I use the triflex on all different types of hard floors and it works fabulously...even with my kitty litter. Miele also has the ability to stand up on its own. This is huge. I have experienced MANY Dyson breaking because they fell over. The V11 and up models of the Dyson cordless we have experienced many common "issues." The inside rings break, the triggers are breaking all the time and we have had to replace many bodies. We don't see that many issues with the Miele, which would also lead me to believe they are better made. I hope this was helpful to you and others. I don't intend on making a side-by-side comparison video, so you might just have to take my professional word on it. I was not paid to make this video, I just made it because of my passion for the vacuum industry. Thank you again!

@@kimberly.thomasonI concur! The difference in quality isn’t something that’s hard to miss. It’s very noticeable from the moment you touch a Miele. They feel very solid. Their canisters feel even more so, but for a stick the Triflex is very solid feeling and performs quite well. I have the HX1 and the V15 Detect, which I’ve had 3 warranty claims on in less than a year of purchasing it. My Triflex hasn’t broke, and yes it does do a great job on hard floors!

I usually tell people to take vacuum reviews with a grain of salt because everyone has different standards of cleaning. Also when you blindly purchase a vacuum online that isn’t necessarily right for your needs, you may not give it great reviews. Just the other day I told a customer she couldn’t buy a Triflex because she wasn’t capable of changing the positioning. If she had purchased it first, she may not have given it the greatest review.

@@kimberly.thomason the poor reviews surround quality issues, problems with the floor head and the headache that is the dust container being both too small and disgusting to empty
@kimberly.thomason
@kimberly.thomason 11 месяцев назад
@@Olliebobalong in our experience with repairing these and other brands, Miele’s “quality” issues really revolve around lack of proper customer maintenance. The cleaner head frequently will die if customers are not maintaining it properly. Dust containers on all bagless vacuums are unhealthy to empty, but again, with proper education on how to empty the dust cup it isn’t any more difficult or dirty than Dyson’s, sharks and others. Manufacturer defects are rare on these units, unlike the other brands we service we see design and manufacturing issues more frequently. Have you tried a Miele Triflex?
@Olliebobalong
@Olliebobalong 11 месяцев назад
@@kimberly.thomason you’re missing my point; this isn’t to do with maintenance. The head on the triflex is weak out of the box. People are buying these brand new and various bits fail on then prematurely. In the UK at least, customer reviews of the HX1 and HX2 are awful, many people saying it’s not up to typical Miele quality and not a patch on their corded model. Compared to a Dyson which is child’s play to empty, you have a pleated filter inside the dustbin of the Miele which soon becomes clogged and very messy to clean.

I’m in the UK and I was tempted by the Numatic Quick (Henry and Hetty are a well known vacuums) for its bag. As these are a well known brand here, I mean the corded version, these are the mainstay of every cleaner and janitor closet in our country. I had a great deal come up on a used HX2, so am going to give a Miele a go, having owned 2 corded Miele over the last 25 yrs, both still working - until the oldest ones body recently gave in and I can’t hold it together with anymore duct tape! I literally have used it for decorating dust and cleaning the car interior. When I was in high school (late 90’s) my father worked in a domestic appliance store where we got our first Miele and it was the first vacuum I purchased for my own home. I like the idea of a pod bag for a cordless vacuum. I don’t know how effective the Numatic bag pod system is for allergies which is my main concern, second is suction performance I have noted a UK based reviewer observed suction depleting as bag filled which I suppose is a trade off for the cleanliness of a bag and not having to clean a filter.
