Nice work David, Lauka and the rest!! Makes tuning so much easier and quicker! I just morphed my V3 into a mini only thing i need now is a feedback wire, can wait, BMS210 will do for now! Thanks for the complete tutorial of setting up the board. I have a tri with multiwii, but multiwii firmware seems to be not good for tricopters. I will try this firmware even if it is in alpha state. Thanks David. P.s. Please make more videos from tricoters and so on.

Hello. Thanks for this video. I have a problem with my DYS 30g Nano Tricopter. The tail servo shakes very strongly when the motors are switched on. Tailtuning I made in a provisional way, since I a corresponding tool as in the video is not available. Is the angle to the left and right exactly 45 degrees, or can it deviate from it to have a good flight behavior?

Hi David. I'm making a mini tricopter of yours, but I will use my own double bearing supported 3d printed tilt mechanism. (If you are curious I can send you pictures and the STLs.) My question is what angle the servo should tilt to the side, and what reciver are you using? Thank you for the answer, keep up the good work!

Hello David; I just finished the assembly of a baby tricopter kit following all your tutorials, and I need some tips to fine tune it: - I'm using futaba without telemetry, meaning that I would love to have a minimum voltage warning thru the beeper. How can I configure it that way? As soon as I click in "Battery and Power" in Cleanflight it says I need a new firmware... strange.. - I've only tested the baby tricopter indoors, so no tail tune done yet. For now, any fast increase in throttle makes the tail drift a bit. Is it expected since I haven't done the in flight tail tune? Regards from Brazil!

Luis, I have some questions, but before I start here is my tricopter profile; the booms are 12mm, iNav firmware, Naze32 Rev6 w/CN-06 gps, 1200kv motors, SimmonK 25A ESCs. My issue is, I attempt to takeoff and the tricopter drops the tail end (yaw drops). What PIDs, and Navigation setting would you recommend, or are you using to make your have a smooth flight. Thanks in advance!

Hi David, I recently built a tricopter and I'm using a Seriously Pro Racing F3 ACRO running triflight 0.7 firmware but I'm having trouble to make it works, mostly because I've never built anything different of simple rc airplanes. I tried the triflight 0.5 before and it was so unstable that couldn't take off. With the 0.7 triflight firmware it gone even worse and I didn't get to perform the tail tune properly, I do exactly how it's shown in the video but it doesn't respond like yours and there's no much material about tricopters using the SP Racing F3. If you could tell me what am I possibly doing wrong or point some material for me to study I would really appreciate it. And thank you for this video, already helped a lot.

Great video the one thing missing for me is the details for the setup of the tail servo. I am using an SP Racing f3 board and every time I plug in the servo it goes hard right and stays there. On the motors page servo six moves in response to input from the rudder so I have checked the box against servo six on the servo page and connected it to pin 4 on the board. I am obviously doing something wrong but this is my first tricopter build and first time using cleanflight. I would be very grateful if you could point out what I am doing wrong thanks

I really like the video, but I am a little confused. I don't have much information on RC anything, this is my first project, and I don't understand how I am supposed to program my FrSky Taranis Plus transmitter to control my tricopter. My transmitter doesn't have any tricopter model like options so I'm not sure how to assign the channels properly...

been flying quads for a while, its fun but I wanted a challenge. built a 250 sized tricopter out of a spare omnibus f4 pro I had. it flies relatively okay once I realised the servo needs to be on the pwm5 pin aka motor 5. thing is I want a better tail resolution ( I am having to correct it inflight all the time as it never centers 100% and I have to always give some left yaw. its very easy to mod a servo for feedback... but where does the wire go or what do I need to add to the cli of my board and yes I am flying triflight. the same pinout for the f3 will work its just what is it??? DAVID PLEASE HELP!!!!!

what if you plug in the main flight battery when you are doing the receiver setup and the beeper beeps not one long beep, but steadily beeps on, then off, then on, then off? and my receiver was on but moving the sticks did nothing.

I installed Triflight on my NAZE32 REV5 10DOF and the Compass(Mag) is not supported. None of the softkeys on cleanflight enable this compass. Any suggestions or software revision I need?

0.5 came out just in time. I was thinking about trying an alpha/beta version of triflight just to get the sense wire working.

My speed controllers have three wires in this tutorial it only shows to a black and white wire. Mine are yellow red and brown. Which two wires are positive and negative and which one do I omit will I be able to even use these?

Do you know of anything special that needs to be done to get servo output for a tricopter on a SP Racing F3 Version 1 running betaflight? I can not get servo control at all. In the motors tab the rudder shows activity on servo 6 in BF and I have set it up in the servos tab with no luck. Another issue I am having is when I arm the tricopter and give it throttle input the motors spin up to the Minimum Throttle (Lowest ESC value when armed) and that is all I get. No speed control with throttle stick movement. I am completely stuck here....

You should be setting your min and max throttle at 2000 and 1000 if that's what you are setting you controls to.... Otherwise you are effectively loosing 300us of resolution
