I agree with Flax. Dog lives do not matter as much as children’s lives. For all the reasons they’ve stated. Granted, I’ve never had a dog, but between it and my kids, I’m choosing my kids. It’s just what makes the most logical sense.
Here’s the thing about the don’t fuck with cats segment, Lewis mentions how as a vegan it annoyed him at people care about these cats but they then eat meat, he then ignores the fact that the dude who killed the cats goes on to kill people, right after talking about the differences between people thinking the same about animals being the same as human children, the vegan/vegetarian position is very much high horse and ignorance of logic and our species being factually more advanced and worth more than other species to our own. Imagine you are the parent or relative of a man who is murdered by a fucking psychopath and his story is involved in a documentary that is extremely popular, then you find out that the world gives more of a shit about a cat than another human life.
Wait, Pflax thinks it's a con that a church gave away their activity space for the oh so painful sacrifice of an hour every week to sit in church. And had multiple youth groups that you also got into for free because you went to the church? I kinda don't feel like you understand that those functions where probobly paid for by church donations, and without a free activity space the cost to go into your scouts probobly would have gone up. Also, when I feel the need I confess, and when I tell the priest that I backsass my parents (Not honoring my mother and father) he makes me do like, I dunno, a few prayers before I leave church. Honestly other than doing things I would already be doing, being a catholic is surprisingly low maintenance, and church functions, like decorating the church for Christmas, is fun. I am sad to hear that Anglican churches are such waking nightmares.
It's all just a system set up to indoctrinate people, especially young impressionable kids. The fact that they need donations to keep running doesn't mean they should be respected in getting those donations, because they're not a good organisation to exist in the first place. (As is their opinion and many viewers such as myself) To give you an easy to imagine perspective, just swap out the church with a flat earth group or anti-vax group and think about how you'd feel about that. It's just an organisation designed to indoctrinate people, especially kids, into irrational anti-scientific beliefs.

when pyrion was talking about his dog finding a sock in public, it reminded me of the time their was a used condom at my schools front gate, and how funny it would be if pyrions dog ran up and grabbed a used condom
I was at a friend's house and they apparently had a problem where the dog would eat their used condoms. So we were hanging out and they were chasing their dog around the living room because there was one hanging out of its butt. Just thought I'd share.
If someone sincerely believes that non-sapient animals are as/more important than humans then that person must be willing to accept one of three logical outcomes: either they are themselves forfeit of their "human right" to preach such crap (and ALL human rights by extension) - or all non-sapient animals must be considered subject to the same "rights" as humans (practical impossibility and ecologically catastrophic) - or an objectively determined and universally agreed hierarchy of animal rights dependent on the intelligent contribution of all sapient species is adopted. The last choice is currently (given the scope of our mostly well-understood neuroscientific and zoological data) equivalent to the first two.
They didnt mention the other human centipede movies I havent seen them but I'm sure there are more people, also you have to love Lewis' apologies halfway through the talk about it

But seriously, mine was the same when I did scouts back in the 90's, it's different from place to place, some places are just too lazy to have badges be earned, and just hand them out, my scouts was more like a day-care then anything else. It's different depending on which places you go to.
To me, my pets are more important than anyone else's kids. I don't and won't have kids, and because of that, my pets are akin to being my children in a way. If i did have kids, obviously our own species comes first, but I don't. So regardless of how anyone else may feel, my pets are most important to me, and although I love pyrion, he really doesn't connect with animals properly. You shouldn't have pets to have pets, or to treat them like objects or possesions (though they technically are posessions). A pet is a friend for life that depends on you, only they don't carry the baggage of years of shitting, crying, and sleepless nights.
How can Lewis be so passionate about hating on Christianity and yet know jack shit about it. He just comes across as an edgy r/iamverysmart reddit atheist and I say that as one myself. If you're ignorant of something, how can you possibly form an argument for or against it. He should understand this seeing as he's quite well educated.
Oh Somewhat on topic of how I found out I did not believe in god. I remember it clearly. I was around 7 or something, I was in a car journey to somewhere, there was a falling star, I wished for my pokemon to all be level 100 (Pokemon Gold), Open up my GBA, nope still trash. And thats how I found out that its all a lie. That and my parents raised me with 0 religious input, wich I am very tankful to them for. They also never fed me the something magic happens when you die bs. So I was really sad for a few days, but then I grew to accept death and understand its weight. And let me tell you thats a nice plays to be at, at an early age.
Idk man, the same bible that disrespects a FUCK ton of different people, to then demand respect back is rather hypocritical, even if you don't follow what's in the bible exactly, there are a great deal of Christians that do. Stop acting like religion is this untouchable topic that you can't speak poorly about without being called disrespectful, it's an idea, a hypothesis on how everything began, if I criticized the BIg Bang Theory, I wouldn't be called disrespectful, so don't give religion special rights.
the way I understand Christianity, is that god forgives nobody, no matter how minor their sin is, no matter how much they repent. instead his son takes the blame for it, and you go to heaven while he is tortured for eternity. basically god cannot forgive, so he made jesus so that he could allow sinners into heaven by having jesus take their place. its a very sickening tail when you think of it
Fundamentalism is idiotic, that's for sure, but bible is a wonder in it self and is full off interesting stories, life lessons and philosophy. And these stories are "real" and meaningful regardless of what parts of them really physicly happened, so I refrain from calling it all bullshit.
