In this guided trigger point myofascial release workout, Kendra guides you through myofascial releases for the full body. Starting with the feet and working the way up the legs, to the hips, back, chest, and neck, you'll feel like you've had a full body massage when you're done.

Looking for a foam roller? I've linked some examples in the products section! Black foam rollers are the most dense, white is less dense. The ones with knobs can be great to get into smaller spots like deep in the hips and calves.
Myofascial release is so important for releasing tension in the muscles, finding and resolving trigger points that cause pain, and creating space in your joints so you can move freely with less pain and more stability. I cannot believe the number of dr appts and PT and SHOTS in my neck I had and the number years and jobs lost due to inflammatory episodes. Pain has taken financial stability yet mostly it stole my serenity. Why haven’t I heard about the importance of fascia health sooner from any of the numerous doctors. Unfortunately I know why; they stopped listening and treating when they weren’t able find an answer. This myofascial release is a true lifesaver! Love tour videos particularly 🌈✌🏼

@kendrafitzgerald I recently retook my weight lifting practice, and I practice restorative yoga and yoga flow. At one of the restorative yoga classes, we practiced rolling balls on the it band. I didn’t realized how tight they were. Therefore, I got to your videos. I also saw one of the replies regarding on what to focus on when lifting weights: the glutes med, so that releasing the it band is permanent. I am aware that we hold our emotions in the fascia, and these exercises are helping many people release pent up emotions. Thank you for explaining how to do them properly and so thoroughly. Hey, dear Kendra! Thank you so much for this video. I had a long time frozen body, that really didn’t help me anything in my life. It affects my productivity, physical health and mental health. I do practice Yoga regularly, but somehow it still doesn’t let me feel fantastic, until I did this with you, this is what I really wanted!!!! It changed my body even I only did three days every day, I think I have a new body. It hurt at the first try, but it really helped!!! Love it, love it!!! This is really good Doc. I’ve had a bunch of nerve ablations on lower back . Really tightened up hamstrings. Simple rolling exercises helping. 👍

I really love this video and use it regularly with good results. One thing; the IT band is not a muscle and cannot be stretched because it is a tendon. So, care must be taken to not damage it. Some muscles run alongside the IT band that should be worked out, though.

Yes! You are absolutely right! IT Band is not a muscle, and I will do my best to edit that out. It's actually the TFL higher in the hip which connects to the IT band that is better to work on for IT band release! Thank you for posting your comment!

I'm so glad it's helpful! I know, once you get into the muscles you really see the tension. :) I like doing this once a day and pairing it with joint mobility work. (A joint mobility workout is coming soon!)

So glad you enjoyed it! It depends - if you want to 'turn off' a muscle, you can foam roll it longer. If you want to activate the muscle, just foam roll for a few seconds to wake it up. :) Does that make sense? I can explain more if helpful!

To alleviate IT band pain long term one must strengthen the glute med. Most people barely use it causing a plethora of body mechanic issues including an inflamed and overused IT band. Rolling it will offer some temporary relief, but it will come back and usually worse. There’s no if and or butt about it.

Yes this is true!! There are two camps of where people fall in the IT band rolling discussion. I'm squarely with you Ghee, that rolling can have its place, but long term relief from IT band pain IS a strength issues as you said. Thank you for sharing!

I love the OPTP site for foam rollers (I am not associated with them, just like the quality). The black foam rollers are more dense, ie. add more pressure on your tissues, white is less dense and blue / blue marble is the least dense. Hope that helps!

It's abdominal separation at the core midline that happens most commonly during pregnancy, but can also happen in non-pregnant bodies as well. If you have questions let me know!

But the IT band is not a muscle and everything I read says Not to foam roll the it band.. why are you calling it a muscle?

The muscle I was referring to is the TFL (near the pocket) which connects into the IT band. The IT band is indeed not a muscle. I do use the term muscle while the foam roller is on my IT band so I can see why that would be confusing. I will edit that out!

I did this entire video, I'm learning all this after 36 years of chronic bi-lateral sciatica, now I'm suffering all over because of years of off gate, compensating for pain, limping, lack of certain movements in fear of triggers, etc.. thought I would need knee surgery but found that it was muscles binding, fascia clumping etc with self acupressure with tools, fascia release tools etc, now I'm getting pain relief without meds, without injections every 3.5 months for past 19 years.. I will have this problem forever but I'm in charge not doctors and I'm finally getting the real deal Hollifield relief that my pain doctors neglected to tell me about 🎃, kinda have to blame myself because the information was always available.. Thank you for the awesome video my lady

Watching these videos is great but I'll be honest with you. No amount of streaching will do you any good if you have food allergies. I have myofacial pain and I find certain foods trigger these responses. Stop eating those foods and you'll have to not streach everyday
