Not all trikes use exact same distance front and back. My ICE Trike Adventure requires a couple of mm difference between the front and rear measurements. Alway best to check with the manufacture prior to making adjustments imho.

Old TV Rabbit Ear pieces work great for measuring toe-in/out.

Interesting...I like 1/16 toe-in on my Actionbent trike, rather than zero. Handling is better.

1/16 inch that is.

Most trikes have Ackerman Compensation built into the steering geometry. Isn't it critical to first make sure that the wheels are pointed straight ahead (or that one is) before adjusting (and make sure the steering handle bar on Linkage / Indirect designs is perfectly straight 90 degrees to the frame)? Otherwise, doesn't the alignment which will change by design in the AC change the measurement the more you turn the wheels? They should only really be parallel when pointed straight ahead.

@dregerclock For best results your wheels should be at a 90 degree angle from the trikes frame. This is recommended when doing alignment on any trike.

He gets it wrong so many times that the entire video becomes pointless. 1: Put the brakes on and adjust one wheel to a straight position 2: Put some weight on the seat to simulate the rider. 3: Make sure you're leveling your measuring tool. If you're using a tape measure start measuring with 1" or 1cm to avoid inaccuracies. 4: Set the wheels in a 1-2mm toe-in position (depending on the wheelsize) to avoid wobbling and to make it run straight.

Yes. A bit of toe-in is needed on two front wheels.

Don't you first have to square one of the wheels to the frame before you adjust the alignment I thought that was the first step.

I have a 3 wheel trike....two wheels in the front and 1 wheel in the back. How often do I need to have it aligned?

you can make your own w/a length of wooden dowel rod & a 2 inch or so wood screw. Cut the dowel to just shorter than the distance between your rims' inside & screw the screw in one end of the dowel rod & turn it in & out for fine adjustment. That's what I did.
