My local trail is also 15mph, but people on road bikes always go faster. I don’t have the gearing to go faster than 17-18 without the hamster wheel effect. For a while I was obsessing about switching to something like a Rohloff hub, but I’ve been thinking it would be easier to switch to a larger front ring. I hesitate doing that because on my old Rover I went from a 30 tooth to a 42 tooth and it’s super fast with the BBSHD until the battery dies and then I can barely pedal. With the 559, I can easily pedal without the motor because I got the same ring on the Tongshen as the original middle ring that came with the trike. I currently have my phone where the front derailleur was. I can see who might be calling, but otherwise I am just listening to podcasts. I might move it closer if I was going to ride further than a bike trail and needed to navigate
