This happened to me today. I was so upset when I still got the error message after I cleaned out all the thread in the bobbin area. I called my dealership repair person and he said that I need to bring it to the shop:😢 Your video was the first one to show when I searched RU-vid to see if I can fix the problem myself. I figure I have nothing to lose. Your relaxed attitude about the problem has calmed my nerves quite a bit! Thanks for the good video.

What a great learning experience. Yep when a birdnest happens underneath, majority of the time something isn't threaded correctly from the spool to the needle.

Becky, I did the same thing with my Brother PR620 6-needle, it's old but works great. I was having problems and checked everything else first but the simplest one, the thread path. I had trouble awhile back when my bobbin case broke. Dropped too many times. I ordered one and also bought one from my dealer. I put the one from my dealer in, got the tension adjusted but the thread was being cut too short and came out of the needle every time. I was ready to take it in and decided to put in the extra case I bought, and it worked perfect. The case my dealer gave me was the wrong one. Makes you feel good when you can trouble shoot yourself and save some $$.

Good for you! Yes, once you understand the mechanics of these machines...what makes them tick...you can save yourself so much time and trouble. The very last thing I want is a home visit by my tech or worse yet, to have to take it in for maintenance.

Forgive additional comment, but in the middle of finishing special gift on the 6 needle machine, it stopped, displayed the message "change to a larger frame!" This was at 3am and everything I tried did not fix the problem or clear the error message. I called dealer tech when store opened, he said "check / tighten the screws that hold the frame in place" I did, they were very slightly loose, tightened the screws and completed my project. I asked why that would cause an error message? He said that sensors are built into the "sockets" that hold the screws and tell the machine which frame is in use... I almost developed a love/hate relationship with that machine. The learning curve is huge for me. Just sharing. Thanks to all for "listening". BTW, all tips / tricks with this machine will be so greatly appreciated. Thanks to all.

Thank you for another great educational video. I have a Brother PR650W, learning with every project. Some time ago I viewed a YT video where the sewist used cotton pipe cleaners, I bought two packs and use one each time I start a new project to "sweep" out the thread ends clipped with the thread cutter in my sewing machine and now the 6 needle... Request, please: Will you PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE make a YT tutorial on how to change thread colors/needles (I watched every one of your videos and learned more) both by the spools switch icon and the "three pages" as I call it, plus the "magic wand"? I must have a learning problem 'cause I just don't get it. Thank you so very much for educating all of us.

Hi there, just found this video. Thanks for all the tips. I would love to get my hands on one of those 10 needle machines to start my own little store. Do you have to do a lot of tension adjustments with that machine? I saw the 10 dials on the top of the machine. I know I sound stupid but tension always freaks me out a bit.
@PowerToolsWithThread
@PowerToolsWithThread 2 года назад
Once I set the tension on the dials, I've never had to fiddle with it ever again. You should just see 3 of the lines above the rim of the base that the cap sits in and it's perfect. I highly recommend this machine. I just love the easy user interface. It's the same as the Baby Lock 10-needle but just a bit less expensive.

Are you referring to the spring? Look for 'bobbin spring size L' You might have to either get more springs than you need or a new bobbin case altogether. amzn.to/3PCXLQH

I recently got a Wiper error. What do you do for that error?
@PowerToolsWithThread
@PowerToolsWithThread 2 года назад
The wiper error relates to the arm (wiper) that pulls the thread tails up into the bar behind the needles. That means that it tried to pull thread up and it got hung up somehow - usually because of a trim error and the thread didn't cut properly. Once you fix the trim issue and re-thread the needle, the wiper issue should resolve itself. If not, turn the machine off and on again to clear the error and it should be fine.

I have a prs100 and for some weird reason it would start embroidery and stop within seconds saying check upper and bottom bobbin, the upper seem fine when i look under the fabric it’s a slight nest in different errors; i checked the bobbin, cleaned the trim how you did in this video and I’m still getting that stoppage.. I’m not sure what to do next do you think it’s the timing knife?
@1of1spill
@1of1spill Год назад
I meant hook timing*
@PowerToolsWithThread
@PowerToolsWithThread Год назад
I'm sorry but I don't understand "it's a slight nest in different errors' under the fabric. Also, check to see if it works with a long bobbin tail vs. a short one that has been cut by the knife. If you pull the tail to about 4 inches and start the machine and it catches fine, but it won't after a regular trim, then the little spring that holds the thread tight to be cut is loose and should be replaced.
@1of1spill
@1of1spill Год назад
@@PowerToolsWithThread the machine start stitching when it start off the design than stop immediately when it’s about to speed up with a “check upper or bottom bobbin message”, it’s not catching the bobbin underneath, it’s bunching underneath not showing the bottom bobbin thread on fabric, under the fabric is all the top thread color i use instead of showing a good pulled tension.
