Notification gang here. But I've already seen this video on Drew's channel and I must say this one again - I am glad he has done it! Very inspirational, especially for all us patchy beard growers. Time and patience my friends. That's the key to the successful beard growing. And Drew is a great example.

Oh, and good decision to keep the handlebar length. It helps fill-in/cover the gaps between the mustache and beard (I need to do the same thing), and if you decide to curl it in the future, you have what you need to get a beautiful shape out of it.

Your beard looks fantastic after trimming and shaping it properly. Mine is pretty thin, too and you made the right decision to not trim down the sides. Yours naturally looks great and like you said, you'll lose a lot of the fullness you have if you try and trim down the sides. The length right now looks great and remember, it will continue to get thicker and thicker as you get older. I still had big empty holes in my beard up until I was 30. I'm now 53 years old and it's much much thicker than it was back in the late 90's, though still not as thick as I'd like it to be. On a side note, I'm jealous of the color.

Dope beard Dude, I have been wearing a full beard since I was 16 I'm 46 now, I started shaving my head bald in 07 but even before then I have been doing my own beard since day one, almost never let the barber touch it, except to line it up when that really sharp look was in and I didn't learn the straight blade yet these days I have beard clippers with several clips like most of us, I keep the length and basic lines and neatness, shape etc with them, I shave my head with Gillette 3 blades and my neck hair, line my beard up with a straight beard and sometimes just for fun shave my whole head with it too. Edit: I just wanted to add for the newbies it's all about trail and error and Patience, Patience is Key for everything in life but growing the beard so. Important you will mess up at times but eventually get it perfect and realized it's always better doing it yourself then the barber, not just cause of the money and time you save it's just great being your own barber

In my opinion this guy has never had a patchy beard. Thin and scraggly yes but patchy no. Isnt a patchy beard supposed to be beard that has bald spots and visible skin? His beard looks pretty full to me and now it looks even fuller with the trim.

Yep, people throw around "patchy" when they should be using "sparse". Uniform sparse coverage isn't that bad if you let it grow out longer. Length will make up for it.

Looks much fuller trimmed up. I'm taking the advice for growing the sides of tash right down either side of my lips, as I have all of 3 hairs growing there so it bridges it in as well as can be. As for my cheeks.... pretty much zero growth

It was really patchy when I started but it became thicker and fuller in the last 2 years. The tip is never clean shave, just trim it as needed for letting all the “sleeping” hairs grow out. Hope this can help bruh.

Prosenjit bhuiya if you don’t want to wait, I suggest you to try out minoxidil, it’s great to let the patches fill in quicker. You could try to cover them up using some colouring mustache wax (such as the one by Clubmen Pinaud) as well, I use it for my mustache gap and it works really good, but obviously it’s just a temporary solution.

Nice video, there’s not enough patchy beard help on youtube. Funny story, I have a patchy beard and I’ve been very self conscious of the 2 week - 6 week period. I went to the barbers once where a new woman cut my hair and offered to tidy up my beard. I thought “sure why not.” And she cut down so far on the cheeks and sides and exposed my patches, leaving the neck long. I was so mad I had to start over cuz it looked like shit. Lol
