So trimming the flat overlapped moss will reattach and grow elsewhere? Or do I need to cut down into the ground roots? Thanks in advance!

I take a razor knife and cut along side the stone and then I take my weeding tool And I dig down a couple inches to pry up the moss... I do like to get a little bit of the dirt and deeper roots for a healthier transplant. Thank you for your comment 😁

However, I have transplanted the flat overlapped moss and it has continued to grow, It just takes a little bit more babying And I do it in the cooler months. Hope that helps you 😊
