***** Post-processing is any modification to the frame buffer that happens after the drawing stage and before the screen update. So basically yeah, it's anti-aliasing and similar stuff. (I might be pulling this knowledge out of my arse.)
Trine 3 videos suck. It's the second video and the second time I need to go change my pants. The attention to detail is out of this world. What kind of black magic is this?
Not sure If I like the change to 3d. TRINE's strong point always was the scenery pieces that look like some masterpiece paintings. Having a 3D plane to move in genericizes it a wee bit too much for me.
Harry Dresden It looks nice, has that 2D feeling it had but transitions smoothly with 3D and having that expands the whole game by a lot more than that was possible with 2D only
Harry Dresden I think it's better on 3d, because it feels like you can appreciate the landscape an awful lot more. In 2d there was background, yeah it was pretty, but since not that much of the background was important on the puzzles you can easily overlook them.
Trine series has the most visually pleasing graphics ive ever seen, just amazing attention to detail and unbelievable textures and colors in a fantasy world.
***** Cod would be awesome with more colorful graphics. Remember how grey and brown CODWAW and CODBO were? They could have added some colors easily and preserved the atmosphere.
Wow. Often have people taken chances like this to complain about a game series going from 2D to 3D. But when Frozenbite does it like this, there is no room for complains. Looks, and sounds, absolutely amazing.
I've been playing Trine 3 in 4K 60fps on very high settings and WOAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Looks so good, you just want to keep staring at all the stuff in the background. Almost brings a tear to my eye it's so beautiful.
looks great, the 3d world space/new perspective is game changing for the Trine series, and it looks like they are pulling it off so well! can't wait to play but on steam and play local coop. I'll preorder that shit straight away.
Nice one! The "3d" movement gives a lot more chance for the game developers to come up with new ideas for the game! I also like the Shader very much, it's obvious there has been a lot of work put in to the artwork, and the effects.
At first I had been a bit pessimistic on the whole addition of 3D into Trine, but now I am much more optimistic towards it. And it still looks GORGEOUS.
The transitions from cutscene to gameplay are amazing. I was mind fucked for the first couple minutes trying to figure out if it was gameplay or a cutscene.
When playing as the knight, it feels like playing "Alice Madness Returns: American McGee's Alice 2". When playing as the thief, it feels like playing "Prince of Persia". When playing as the mage... argh! It feels like playing just as a mage trying to solve puzzle. Overall, gameplay looks nice. The fact that gameplay involves 3 characters with different set of skills allow players to have a dynamic experience playing this game. Bravo the developer!
Looks gorgeous, can't wait to play it. I just hope it also comes to consoles because this is one of those series I think everyone should have the liberty to enjoy.
Great to some early gameplay footage of Trine 3! Putting it in 3D appears a well thought choice, allowing the player now to dabble into those things that were normally just in the foreground making the game more immersive. I am curious to see how that factors into the whole flow of the game and the co-op the game is built around.
Gotta say I like this so far. I was very worried when Frozenbyte said Trine would go 3D, but this looks nice. I can see a good balance between 2D and 3D, it doesn't feel "forced". Let's see how it develops. Quite obviously the graphics and music are amazing, and there's a huge variety of locations.
Wow, just wow. This is exactly what I wanted from a 3rd Trine. 3D platforming elements mixed in with the 2D. Honestly Frozenbyte are some of the most talented indie developers out there. Can't wait for it! :D
Simply mind blowing graphic with an impressive improvement to gameplay. They have mastered their art and then try to go beyond it. Funny thing about it is that im sure they will master this one too.
once again, this dev team has pushed the envelope on atmosphere both video and audio. also, they've added the extra half dimension missing from the first two games. I can't wait to get my hands on this!
Cool! Super Mario 3D World's influence has spread. I guess I can also give credit to other multi-plane platformers like Mutant Mudds and DKC: Tropical Freeze.
Really love this! I think a cool addition would be physics enabled particle effects for the magic abilities and pickups, that can interact with the character and environments, this seems feasible as the physics already look quite good. Nice gameplay, I'm a big fan of the series!
I just bought the entire Trine Trilogy (Trine, Trine 2, and Trine 3) for less than $9.00 US Dollars (USD) on Steam. Trine 2 looks amazing on maximum graphics settings. I also bumped up the resolution to 3840x2160p (4K/UHD). It's beautiful.
I recall that in the game you could basically complete it as one of the three characters, but at 3:45, I doubt anyone other than the woman will be able to traverse that
In each of the games the characters start off separate before the Trine calls them together. Amadeus and Pontius wouldn't be able to cross that because they would never be there.
I played 3 and I'm sad that it was never finished. I remember me and my sister being excited for new locations after the forest level with the pretty deer. I loved the 3D aspect mixed in with side scrolling. I hope some day in the future they maybe able to attempt the concept again.
My major gripe with Trine 2 was how much longer the levels, game, and achievements were compared to the 1st. As a Steam gamer, I don't have time to devote like that. I've got a ton of other games to get to. Adding a 3d element makes me think this game is going to be even bigger than Trine 2 and finding everything to get the achievements is going to be brutal.
