body and the spirit, the saint and the sinner, but in all directions, in an unlimited
freedom of oscillation."
In the art of free improvisation, as heard in this album, echoes the essence of
Hermann Hesse's Steppenwolf. Much like the protagonist Harry Haller, oscillating
between the poles of spirit and body, the musicians here explore the boundaries of
creativity. The quote "There is no reality except the one contained within us" from
Steppenwolf initiates the journey, for each improvised note creates its own reality,
born from the inner world of the artists.

Renowned for his avant-garde approach to the saxophone, Peter Brötzmann
unleashes sonic landscapes that push the boundaries of free jazz. His playing style
reflects a profound exploration of emotion and technique, making each note a
revelation.
Anto Pett, a virtuoso pianist and composer, weaves intricate musical tapestries with
his nuanced playing. As a pioneer in improvisation, Pett brings an emotive and
thought-provoking dimension to the ensemble. His harmonious interplay with
Brötzmann and Bystrov creates a dynamic balance, elevating the collective
improvisation to new heights.
