Why Albinoni (1671-1751)? Where is baroque in this music? This is purely late-romantic piece written by Remo Giazotto in XX century, based on melody that may be found in the 1st part of Horn Concerto in E flat major K.495 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Great music, but not Albinoni.
I first heard this piece on late night radio many years ago, done by a rock group? Spectacular and moving guitar solo. Can anyone please help me identify who it might have been? Thanks.
I believe the group was renaissance who first formed in 1969 and lasted off and on until 1978.I can't remember which album it was on although i have got it on vinyl and the lead singer by then was Annie Haslam who was a trained opera singer and at the time had a range of 5 octaves.I believe the song is called so cold is being lonely but always thought it was an original tune until now.
Outstanding music and absolutely fscinatin g setdesign. A bit difficult to follow the story. Imo the afrodance inspired parts of the choreo dont belong to the cultural context. But interesting!
Jawohl!
Watching this, after having just heard and seen Nicholas Hodges' recent performance of Ferneyhough's 'Lemma Icon Epigram' - also uploaded on video today - one would be hard pressed to tell, without looking at the performers, which piece was improvised and which was written down.
Great interpretation and the sound is great ! I have done a version for tenor sax (at home, not in a church :-( ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zcg0cTQo3Qk.html
Well, I've seen several videos of people playing two instruments at once (and even made one or two of my own!) - but saxophone and organ played simultaneously is amazing!
