We are very pleased to welcome the acclaimed flutist Lori Bell to our Brazilian & Latin Jazz at The Merc series. On this occasion, Lori will be playing Brazilian beats and more with her band, Trio de Janeiro. The group features Lori Bell on flutes, the amazing multi-instrumentalist and singer Ron Satterfield, and Kevin Koch on percussion. Together, they present a high-energy, Brazilian-tinged jazz trio with an original approach to jazz standards, Brazilian music, original compositions, and folk music.
Lori Bell is a three-time Global Music Award winner and has performed at prestigious venues such as Birdland NYC, the Kennedy Center, and for the Los Angeles Philharmonic Music Library. Ron Satterfield has won numerous awards from SESAC for his composing and arranging and was a Grammy finalist with the eclectic group Checkfield. Kevin Koch has performed with numerous groups and toured extensively for many years.
