Aegean Trip Report onboard one of their new Airbus A320 CEO from Athens to Warsaw on a very hot summer afternoon.
This flight was planned to be operated by one of the Aegean Airbus A320 NEO, but at the very last time, Aegean changed the aircraft and we flew on a A320 CEO with Sharklets.

I was really impressed with Aegean when I flew with them a couple of years ago. Admittedly, I did find a business class ticket, but it was about a third of the BA cost, and not much more than the BA economy (I live near Heathrow so the only two reasonable options to get to Athens). Catering was good, as was the general service. Pretty sure it was a standard A32X of some sort. It was the closest to a red-eye flight in Europe that you get, taking off just before midnight, and arriving before dawn in Athens. I will always remember seeing the street lights of the outlying islands or towns, like cobwebs illuminated in the pitch black of night, while listening to the new album of one of my favourite bands. The return was not as memorable, but still very decent. Thanks for bringing back the memories, especially the shots of the check-in desks at Athens airport. Hopefully I will be back there someday.

That sounds really cool! Thanks for sharing your experience! Now I want to take that flight! haha I've never flown in Business with Aegean (actually, almost with none airline) but the Economy class is said by everybody to be on the TOP of the European airlines for short-medium range flights. Hello from Thailand! 🇹🇭 I flew with Aegean Airlines from Vienna to Athens. It was a very nice flight. The crew was friendly and attentive. The meal was o.k. , but thinking of it was a short flight , they still provided a Greek traditional fresh baked pie and whole grain bar in the snack box with choices of drink, it was reasonable and acceptable. Btw, your trip report is so great. Please keep doing it very frequently. 👍🏻

Thanks for your kind words! :) I try always to follow the same basic structure in every video, as you said, to give consistency, so the usual viewer knows what can be the next thing to be seen, even though that every video is completely different from another, as routes are usually not repeated. I flew AEGEAN A320 a few years ago from Athens to Rome FCO. For me definitely one of the BEST carrier in Europe with an outstanding inflight service comparable to Austrian Airlines !!!👍

Athens airport is currently on a HUGE expansion that will increase it's capacity to more than 50 million passengers, making it one of the largest in Europe. The expansion includes 5 new terminals and probably a third runway

Este viaje me gusta mucho: El aeropuerto estilo mediterráneo es una pasada¡¡ Las panorámicas sobre las islas¡¡ Este es el viaje que me gustaría hacer¡¡¡ Pero desde Madrid, aunque Polonia es preciosa. Volviendo a Atenas, ese mar Mediterráneo es espectacular¡¡¡ Me encanta toda esa zona. El viaje, tanto el despegue como el aterrizaje, genial. Me gusta esa compañía aérea y me alegro de que ya empiecen los aviones a volar. Nota: Insensatos hay en todas partes y deberían ser sancionados por supuesto.

I flew Aegean domestically from SKG-ATH on an A321 and I must say I was really impressed for a 30 minute flight! Seems like they also do very well on international flights like these. Great report!

Totalmente de acuerdo! De lo mejorcito para vuelos Europeos. Junto con Austrian, están en lo más alto, basado en mi experiencia. Saludos!

The equipment doesn't matter on Aegean, legroom and service top 3 material in Europe. I only rate Austrian higher. Fabulous shots and scenery, a joy to watch

Wow! I think exactly the same, Diedrik. The only Airline that I think I ould put over Aegean for European flights is Austrian. Also Air Baltic is pushing hard with the A220 and very nice and friendly service. Those probably would be my TOP3 for European flights at the moment. Glad that you've enjoyed the Trip Report! Indeed they are a friendly Airline but i fear that they're among the first to go bankrupt. Their financial position has been poor for many years and I think Wizz will step up a gear or 2 in that area giving BT the final push

@@diederikvanrappard7506 Mmm I wouldn't be so sure. I would say that the "Baltic countries" will do everything they can to avoid Air Baltic going bankruptcy. I truly believe it's a great airline that represents very well those countries. It would be a huge asset to lose. Time will tell, but I would bet that we'll see Air Baltic in the skies for years, even more now that they have one of the best, newest and greenest fleets in Europe.

Haha It was a good landing. Too much flare in my opinion but the touchdown was within the touchdown zone limits, so it's ok on a non-crosswind day.

Muchas gracias, Amparo!! Pues sí... lo cierto es que con la excepción de España, poco a poco se va empezando a mover la cosa. Si bien, con el enorme tirón que tienen las Canarias y en general toda España, el tráfico nacional está por ahora salvando a nuestros aeropuertos... Saludos!

Muchas gracias! Me alegra leerte de nuevo por aquí! Estuve sin montarme a 1 avión desde Febrero hasta Julio. Por suerte tenía una buena reserva de vuelos grabados y pude mantener el ritmo de subido durante todos esos meses sin mayor problema. De hecho, hubo varias semanas en las que subí 3 vídeos! hehe Ahora que las restricciones e han quitado es momento de volver a apoyar a esta industria que pasa por la mayor crisis de su historia. Yo lo tengo claro, siguiendo medidas sanitarias, viajar en avión es 100% seguro; mucho más que cualquier otro medio de transporte. Saludos!!

Totalmente! Y eso que los vuelos que tengo grabados con ellos son todos durante el COVID... El catering de Aegean era reconocido por muchos como el mejor de clase turista en Europa, que además iba incluído en el billete... Tengo ganas de volar con ellos en cuanto acabe toda esta bazofia...

Precioso vídeo, es impresionante las vistas de Grecia, ese cielo azul y el mar del mismo color que bonito y en todo el vídeo se han podido contemplar unas magníficas vistas, por mi el vídeo te ha quedado de 10 salvo por el idiota ese de la mascarilla que por culpa de personajes como ese tengo que llevarla yo 7 horas todos los días y eso aparte en mi tiempo libre también . Wow! Suertudo! Seguro que fue genial! Es uno de mis vuelos que tengo pendientes! Sin embargo, al no vivir en España y con todas las restricciones que hay ahora desde los demás países, es un vuelo que me es casi imposible de hacer... It's just an optional cosmetic add. It's just a black layer of paint. Airlines can decide if they want it or not.

Pues sí... lo cierto es que con la excepción de España, poco a poco se va empezando a mover la cosa. Si bien, con el enorme tirón que tienen las Canarias y en general toda España, el tráfico nacional está por ahora salvando a nuestros aeropuertos... Saludos!

Esos vídeos no son tan sencillo de editar... llevan mucho más tiempo de edición y lo cierto es que los ven menos gente... los haré, sí, pero no cada semana... Saludos!

@@PepinAviation No, si a mi también me gusta editar. De hecho me paso el día con ello, entre otras muchas cosas que tiene llevar un canal de YT, pero a los espectadores en general les atraen más otro tipo de vídeos, al menos en este canal. Gracias por el ofrecimiento en cualquier caso :)
