Hello planespotter01! Unfortunately EasyJet, EuroWings and WizzAir are currently flying there. They claim safety reasons, but I think its that they are afraid in case of a bad weather they will need to cancel and divert flights, meaning they will have to take care of people meaning cost cost cost. So Ryanair or Aegean do not have safety concerns??? When the weather is bad they fly to Kavala or Athens nowadays. 4 hours from Kavala Airport? Isn't there a direct shuttle? Like connecting the airports? Normally from KVA airport its less than 2 hours to Thessaloniki. A flew 2 days ago and I stayed in the plane for 1 hour in Thessaloniki, cause there was no parking space at the airport... Μόνο πληρώνεις, τα ξεπουλάνε και δεν λειτουργεί τίποτα!

Πολύ σωστά έχει λεωφορεία, (ελπίζω να μιλάς Ελληνικά so that you με καταλαβαίνεις), but the thing was that after the passenger's arrival the bus drivers talked unhasty who will drive to Μακεδονία αερολιμένας and who to ΚΤΕΛ Μακεδονία. After thirty minutes my group of παιδιά ανταλλαγοί (exchange students) had to go to the other bus because the lines changed and another 15 minutes later we finally drove off. Then, between Kavala and Thessaloniki, near Παγγαίο mountain, we had a "15 minutes" (announced) break at the service area but in fact we stopped for 45 minutes. Actually, our plane should have arrived at 11.20AM at SKG but our παιδιά ανταλλαγοί could only welcome us at 3.00PM at the airport. For this event I have to say Ελλάς, το μεγαλείο σου! Βut everything was fine, like this we could see even more the Greek landscape and I could teach my friends a little Greek. About Aegean, I think they could not manage cancelling all their flights inside Greece, it would be too chaotic and like this they have to accept the lower safety level...

It was bad... The airport usually is ok. Inside as you the gates are very nice, there are shops and food area but this was a bad foggy day. As about SKG the airport was operating only with the 16/34 as they were extending to the sea the 10/28 but now they do work in the intersection and both runways can't work. So as a solution they made the taxiway to a more narrow runway. EasyJet, WizzAir and Eurowings stop till March and moved their operations to Kavala airport (about 2h driving). Hello. There is a thing called registration. It is in the back of the airplane and under the wing usually, usually 5 letters. Like in this flight it is EI-DWS. Then you can visit sites like planespotters or google it and you will find out.
