The Pop Tarts (Randy Pop and Fenton Tart) were scheduled for 2 shows with Michael Musto at Club Rio in Atlanta during the July 4th weekend. Some of their equipment needed transport, so Randy and Fenton rented a van for that and Nelson and Albert Crudo went along for the ride. Presented in three parts ( it's a long trip). Video by Nelson Sullivan

Dick, this is the most impressive and moving collection of videos I've ever seen. Thank you so much for furthering your friend's legacy. You offer so many people a glimpse into another life. I was born in 1990 and I'm so thankful for the chance to peak into such a fun world.

I feel like many people don’t know, but the Pop Tarts are the people that started World of Wonder television, which is where Rupual, etc got their start.

Thanks. These three videos were so soothing (well until the dogs barking anyway). A year to the day before Nelson passed. I guess Albert, Randy and Fenton would appreciate getting the chance to spend this time with Nelson.

Omg, Nelson even had the foresight to record the payphone conversation with Dick asking for directions. Something that would have seemed so mundane back then but is now so peculiar

We drove to Austin TX from DC in 1987.. Played a weeks worth of gigs ..torn up had a guitar stolen .. wish I had video recorded it.

Seeing this amazes me. I was born in 1999 so I never got to experience driving without GPS and phones but it seemed so hard to get around if you didn't know the place.

Steven you had to do a thing called mapquest and if you messed up and missed an exit you absolutely had to backtrack. If you did not, you were screwed

Different world, hon! But the 80s felt very modern for me growing up as a kid who always wanted the very latest thing! Even then i sensed how it contrasted with the decade before, decor and style-wise.

The days when you could drive and be unaware that you were contributing to climate change! You go for a long drive now and you are deemed to be causing global warming / more extreme weather events / polar ice caps melting / destroying the ozone layer etc etc.....
