I have blackout blinds which are as opaque as the wall. I have blackout fabric too, which is again as opaque as the wall. You can clip it to the curtain rod. Nice to see Onni having adventures and happy feathers.

Onni is always very well behaved when you take him on outings. You all have done a great job training him. I love that his curiosity got the best of him and he at got close to the new toy. He makes me laugh.

I bring my macaw with me everywhere on the weekends. During the weekdays I bring her with me to do errands in town like getting food and going to the pharmacy. I have yet to find a place that specifically bans parrots haha.

@@MrJdubz100 awww that is so cool. I wish there was some birds around me. I’m a pet sitter and I work for a very well established business but no one seems to have any birds. Maybe when my dream of moving to Florida comes true they’ll be more people with birds😂.

Yeah, I get very cranky if I don’t get my 12 hours in as well, Onni 😆 Oh my goodness, Onni got a gift from the Oasis Sanctuary. That place is amazing. They give birds a wonderful forever home. I’d like to visit there one day. I hope Onni enjoys his sockatoo when he realises there’s tasty treats in there 🥰 🤗 ❤️

I LOVE the idea for your window. I am going to try that. Buster and Earl just got a new birdie room and He already has the blind torn up. (some of the floor too) Buster also got the same toy! That was so nice of her. I am so glad you mentioned the name. Buster tore up the paper and i did not remember her name. :)

As soon as that time change happened, I was like, ut oh. I knew the light would keep him awake. The blinds just weren't doing a good enough job. And I was stressed about adding holes in the walls for curtains. Curtains are a bad idea anyway, because of the dust they attract. And he would be able to reach them. Scott thought of using a blackboard. You can take off and on in a snap. We have no real shades in the living room during the day time with Onni. We have them up to the top. Yet... he figured out a way... to climb the window to them. It's such a pain in the butt and he gets so mad at us for stopping him.

@@RebeccaStout my dollar tree didn’t have any today. I’m going to try another one later this week. I agree on the curtains. Buster cock-a-chews them anyways. I love watching Onni. I wish Buster wasn’t so terrified of the harness. We want to take him so many places but he’s absolutely terrified when we try. We’ve tried the training tips they suggest too. I might try what you did with Omni’s toy. Just so he gets used to seeing it. While buster doesn’t get upset over toys he just flip out over brooms, mops and vacuums. Large woven baskets too. It’s pretty obvious to me someone at some point wasn’t nice to him. Thank you!! We think his name is a perfect fit. He wasn’t with us an hour before my husband named him that. 😂😂

I always love your outings to UPS and other stores. Finally getting a bit of rain tonight here in ultra dry California. Loved the end when LIttle Houdini tried to pick the lock on his cage with the round blue disk. I'm sure he'll be enjoying his generous gift from Oasis Sanctuary in short order. Btw, love Scott's shirt--he's such a proud Cockatoo Dad :)

I love your new format, Rebecca, with the cute Onni sketch in the right bottom corner and the “la la la” at the end! I like The Oasis and know they’ve got a fund drive going, and have seen Einstein the Talking Texas Parrot with his sockatoo on livestreams. I’m glad Onni has one and is getting used to it! If I were not struggling with so many medical problems right now, I would be on the ball and ordering sockatoos for the birds I follow online. Please keep up the wonderful videos! And that shirt that Scott is wearing - can I buy one? It is great!

Hey Rebecca, I saw that you use a UVB Light for Onni (and likely some of your reptiles too) I bought a UVB meter recently and tried 4 different UVB LED bulbs. For Onni I would recommend the Honpal 3 watt LED UVB they last a lot longer than CFL and use a fraction of the electricity. They also don’t produce a lot of heat. I just switched my Macaw to the Honpal 5 watt at 30” away from her and use the Honpal 3 watt for my African Gray at 8” away from her. I am running an experiment of sorts and using M and M Full Spectrum 24” LED for my Senegal. If her feather condition doesn’t improve then I will probably buy another Honpal 5 watt and place it 12” away.

Thank you so much. We had to take ours down because we could not keep him from the lamp and wire. I began to wonder about their eyes. It's so bright and close. I know for bearded dragons we are told to use a tube light. Not a condensed bulb as it can damage their eyes.

Hi Rebecca, Onni and all. I love it when he goes, LA LA LA. I just wanted to ask you if you had heard of this implant that helps with his hormonal behavior and the aggressive behavior he is having. Einstein the Texan African Grey Parrot has one and it seem to be helping. Just some information for you if you hadn't heard. I saw your video. He is such a sweetie pie though when he says all those cute things. Einstein's Parents are a big supporter of The Birds Sanctuaries. ONNI will love his Sock a too when he gets used to it. It has all kind of healthy treats for him. EINSTEINS Mommy Marsha makes homemade bird bread and it has all natural ingredients. I just love you all and Onni. Take care.

They do during much of the year. When the light is extended they want to nest. By keeping the hours consistently at 12, it helps keep the hormone levels down a bit. Hence less aggressiveness, egg laying, plucking,etc
