One reason I like your RU-vid channel is that you, and your sister, give race day updates faster than NHRA does. NHRA takes forever to put together any kind of race day reports.

I was of the opinion that there should be a return to the quarter mile UNTIL I saw your last 2 videos on the subject. I learned that I didn’t have a clue and that there are many factors that I had not considered. Not that my opinion means a damn thing, but the point is that your videos are informative and changing the minds of fans like me. Thanks for all you do and congratulations on the 100k subscribers!

Hey clay congratulations on the 100K subscribers been here before 5,000 LOL. I was at Gainesville when Kenny broke 300 mph during qualifying I will forget it. Also it's not about the speed it's trying to slow down the dragster some of these tracks don't have enough room to slow the car down it's safer to stay at the 1000.

Alan nailed it accurately and rationally IMO and the safety issue is huge. We've got exciting drag racing at 1000' with no good reason for changing back for the fuel cars.

Here's my opinion on the whole "1/4 mile" fiasco: He's right, but to further his point, safety hasn't caught up to the point their ET's have progressed. They're still using some safety rules that were designed for 250-300mph and created in the 90s. Fact is, before we make these boys and girls go faster, it's critical we ensure their safety at them kinda speeds.

Congratulations on 100k! And I have to say that your videos are getting better and better, I love all the angles on the car. The team just keeps getting better all the time, you can tell they love their jobs just working and getting it done and no complaining about the heat. Good job guys.

I like the different view of the warm up from behind give another perspective

When I used to BMX race a few years ago, I finally stopped racing in competition at 38, my son and I raced in Tucson AZ in August, and thankfully the event was indoor, but just going from the venue to the staging area was absolutely brutal with gear on, 117 deg helmet, pants, jersey pads etc not to mention being dressed like you guys are on ASPHALT! Waiting in line to race… sheesh!!! At least we got 15 min or so of mild AC before we raced you guys are out here showing out for the crowd dressed like you’re going to the North Pole!! Thank you clay and all the teams for going out and bearing the elements to give us all an amazing show, my respect to all the people out there just for us fans to enjoy it!

I've never been a huge drag race fan. I stumbled across this channel and Clay is such a down to earth good guy, I'm subbing and becoming a fan for sure. It's so refreshing to see humility and class on display like it used to be in racing. Keep it up Clay and drive safe. Also, I agree, 1/8 mile is all you need. Anything more is too much on every level. Danger to drivers and fans, gobs of blown up engines, and speeds that belong of the salt flats. that's my opinion. I 100% agree with announcer @ nhra Cheers all

I loved the vid asking the question 1/4 mile to 100 ft. and Alans answer. Top draw both of you. I've been to quite a few NHRA events in the USA, using both distances. Absolutely leave it at it is. We have sort of top fuel, in the uk, but it's nothing like the 11000 bhp cars you have and the fans would be very disappointed if you took the power away. Bob

Congrats on 100K! I agree with Alan R. on the quarter mile debate. I used to be mad about it along with the other people but I also see that the shutdown areas are just not long enough anymore and to me that is a huge deal. If you ever stand at the finish line when they go by, it's scary fast. As you obviously know. I have tried to think of ways to bring the cost down in the fuel classes for years but the only thing I could come up with is to go back to off the shelf parts like blowers and heads. The price you guys pay for blowers and heads and billet blocks just blows my mind but I hate to see short qualifying fields of less than 16 cars. I think at the end of the day it comes down to money. Good luck today!

Hi from England. love your videos and subscribed a few moths ago,. i work with an A fuel dragster when they come from Sweden (Jonny Lagg) to England. Interesting what Alan says about loosing the blower (please don't) to reduce HP. Our a fuel has run 277 on the quarter
