SriLankan just flew to Manila once when Pope Francis visited the Philippines after His Holiness' visit in Sri Lanka. Even as a religious person and an aviation geek, I hope that SriLankan Airlines will start a commercial service to the Philippines soon.
Oh how I miss Sri Lanka! Hope to travel there again soon and also with Sri Lankan Airlines! It would be good to mention when this flight was made..recently? As crew were wearing masks at boarding time... but this must have been pre covid? Otherwise helpful to mention the new arrival protocols. May more travel open up soon 🙏

The Maldives is an unique place... so is the airport. Nowhere else can you find so many huge planes scattered on a tiny tarmac that you walk on to board!
Sri Lankan seems to be the best Govt run air carrier in the Indian subcontinent. No trip report is complete without spotting an airlines from Gulf countries - Emirates, Qatar Airways and Etihad
6:35 I remember when I tried my first business class ride, and the cabin crew gave us rolled hot towels. I felt like an absolute bumpkin wondering if it was food, and I had to look at the guy beside me and realized it was a towel, and still I had no idea how to use a hot towel, so I followed what he did lol 😹
Thanks for this! I did two One World points runs on Sri Lankan in business in 2019 from DXB/AUH to CGK (Jakarta) via CMB. I only flew on their A332 and A21N, not the A333, so the seats weren't as good, but they were only 4hr legs. However, the service was always very friendly and attentive, and the food was really delicious. As to be expected, the tea selection was first class! Wouldn't hesitate to fly with UL again!
Finally FINALLY a video of our airline. I've requested this airline earlie. Fun fact : few days ago I was checking Flightradar24 and cought an a330 the same route; this might be it!

Glad you have updated your intro music. I have never flown in business class (that will change when I turn 55 later this year) but I see no point in flying business class for such a short journey, in my opinion it's only worth spending the extra money for flights of three hours and over. Change my mind 🤣
I was just watching your EgyptAir 787-9 video from Paris Charles-de-Gaulle-Cairo when all of a sudden this popped up! And it’s in business-class!! I watched your vueling, Hainan, EgyptAir, ANA and this one, as well as many others I can’t even remember *TODAY* :D I knew that the video was just uploaded from the new intro ;) Which is in my opinion awesome! 👏 The engine roar was 👌🤙 Greetings 😉❤️
Wonderfully designed menu card. Most airlines allow their passengers to take home the menu card as a piece of memorabilia and imagine being able to take home this rich looking menu card as an avgeek!

Wonderfull flight all for free. Thanx. Amazing how still the flight was. Meaning no turbulence. Looking at the water and coffee it lies still in the cup without any wrinkle.
You should mention that the airport in MLE is on its own island. Before the completion of the Chinese funded bridge, you had to take a boat to get any where whether it be your hotel or the capital city island
lol I was literally at the airport and went to the exact same lounge near the time that this video was recorded. I was flying to Qatar and then back up the US. Cool to see the airport in a video!
